I don't think anyone wants to "fire Robe." I think it's more of the fans wanting to get a higher ROI with a sense of accountability with the people in charge.
When season tickets are purchased, more donations are made, and a new stadium is built; the expectations automatically increase; especially when we were succeeding (making and hosting Regionals/Super Regionals while being ranked in the top 25 while playing in a run down stadium) before our palace came along. Let's face it. We all know the issue. We all know the elephant in the room. Actually, not only is the elephant in the room, it is also blowing its trunk and making noise while being in the room. And this is where the problem lies.
I know there's a lot of loyalty to Robe within the fan base. Heck, count me in as one of them. He's a great coach and a great guy. But ANY job requires responsibility and accountability. If something goes wrong, there's a small amount of time to correct the mistake. Robe has that opportunity right now whatever it may be. He has earned that right. But fan loyalty only goes so far. At the end of the day, it's about the wins and losses. If we aren't winning enough in the future when corrections that can be made are limited, don't get upset when some fans come out and say some things that might make you uncomfortable.
It's like Hyman Roth said on the Godfather Part II, "This is the business that we have chosen."
