Well I’m sorry you have such a tough decision to make being Robe isn’t going anywhere....you seem to be a passionate Cajun fan...but if you can’t agreee to the principals and foundation of Robe’s leadership ways...I hope your decision to quit supporting the team is well thought out before rushing to spend your time and money on other hobbies/passions...
Good post.... It amazes me that so many people have such deep insight into Coach Robe's pyschi.. "He is comfortable"... "He likes the status quo"... "You never see him angry with the situation".... That's why I keep coming in here.... You folks are all "insiders" and where else would I find out what is REALLY going on inside the man's head
Playing life coach can be a tactical diversion from game day prep.

Yep.. we have unlimited resources to buy out "sub-RP-standard" coaches every year... Hell we can have Hud, Robe and if Glasco does not make the CWS next year add him to the list of dead money coaches..... then in three years if we are not in a New Years Day bowl add Napier..... By the way how is that Golf coach doing.... Let's fire his arse too

might not be true
So to summarize:
Robe needs to talk less about turning boys into men and win more games.
Robe needs to stop being comfortable with his situation and start firing some people.
Robe is now a top paid coach who is milking his previous success to a bunch of dimwit Cajun fans who are living in the past.
Robe should be put on notice(hot seat) even though he just signed a brand new contract and has the full support of the Administration. Not making it to the CWS in the next four years would be grounds for being let go.
Most coaches at UL need to be fired.
Looks like you have summarized this thread quite well.... To folks who may have been on Memorial Day vacation, just read this post and don't worry about the rest of the thread....
I guess I'd add
Many of us have our head in the sand
If certain actions as enumerated on this thread are taken, the SEC will be calling in 5 years or less (ok nobody really said that)
Don't take the dead time in the summer to remember some of the glorious past we have experienced.
A coach worrying about a kid's future in life is akin to "It aint my job to put butts in the seats".. Just win gosh darn it.... leave life lessons to the preachers
Mark McGuire should be our next hitting coach or half the season ticket holders are gone
If you want more read the thread but Metry's post covers it very well
That’s pretty good M.O.M. note taking...thanks fellas...
Just heard that JT was hired by Jim Furyk. He wants someone to correct his swing because he wants to look good instead of win. It doesn't matter how you get your weapon into the correct hitting position at the correct time. It matters that you just DO get it there.
1. When someone is doing something that has worked for many years, you don't mess with it. Small tweaks are normal but not drastic changes.
2. Smarts on the base paths (quick decision making) and knowledge of game situations are a must to be a good 3rd base coach.
3. Good relationship with players is also a must to be a good coach in general. Players have to respect a coach and believe in him/her in order to be able to respond positively. Respect must be earned.
Multiple choice question:
JT fits:
a. All of the above.
b. None of the above.
If anyone knows of any positive qualities he possesses as a coach, I would like to know what they are. These are just what I see as I watch our team struggle.
When something is not working, it is time to fix it. JT has been given as much opportunity as anyone can ask for and has not responded. I respect Tony's loyalty to his coaches but sometimes hard decisions have to be made. This decision shouldn't have to be too hard to make from a factual point of view. It may not be the only problem that needs fixing but it is an obvious fix and we need to start somewhere.
To summarize actual posts, Robe needs to be held accountable for the past two seasons. He had a chance to do so after 2017 and it cost us a chance in 2018. No one has said to fire him, but he needs to be held accountable after fans and administration have ponied up for a better product than what we have seen the last 2 seasons.
