Criticism is one thing. Putting a head coach on notice a few year removed from back to back SR is another. We are not Auburn where we have a subpar season and torch the place. If you want drastic moves and constant buyouts of coaches, UL is probably not the school for you. Coaches here will be given ample time to right the ship and given resources that pale in comparison to the programs you want UL to beat. This is a cost effective way of running a cash strapped athletic department. Regarding baseball, it is likely changes are coming. It may not be enough for some, but the problems will be addressed.
The thing is the bar YOU expect to meet was set by the man you’re frustrated with... when I hear the phrase “hot seat,” I interpret that to mean turn it around immediately or else...where we are right is back-to-back sub par seasons...Coach Robe has never had back-to-back-to-back sub par seasons...the man has earned the respect and opportunity to be given the chance to do not do something he has never done while here 2+ decades...
Please help us understand "hot seat?"
Are any of the coaches in the 5 major sports on the "hot seat" now?
If not, are any of the 5 coaches approaching the "hot seat" and what parameters between now and end of the upcoming seasons would place any of them on the "hot seat?"
Just so we can understand.
Robe’s seat will never be hot, he would have a higher salary at a higher profile gig before Maggard finished the paperwork. Kind of hard to make someone like that nervous.
Ben McAdoo with the NY Giants was on the hot seat last year...he didn’t meet expectations and was fired...
What? That our coach would be picked up in seconds by bigger and richer programs? Maybe that should make you stop and think about some of things you have said. I guess it would be much better to be like football and never have a HC move up? A HC nobody wants? You are right..much better.
Understand. I know you are not advocating regime change. I think you and others may be jumping the gun here on his seat being hot. UL is more tolerant of missteps because of our financial situation. That is not going to change anytime soon, especially when said coach has experienced a lot of success.
