What do you define as successful? Making the tournament once a decade and never winning an NCAA tourney game. Getting run-ruled by a +150 team in your own park and missing the postseason for a second straight year. Maybe finishing dead last in Golf, Soccer & Tennis. How about getting beat by D3 Dillard in WBB does that fall under your definition of success

Or we don't subscribe to the notion that our success should not be tied to our own comfort level.

Define what you mean by "comfort level."

If Lanny's post is the definition of absence of comfort, Maggard will be around for a while - he has lots of work to do!!!!!

Men’s Basketball and Baseball are successful programs who have respected coaches with track records of building winners. Firing them would send the wrong message. Sorry you are in a distinct minority in your opinion.
The other sports you mentioned do not matter as much. They lose money, win or lose. I am all for giving those coaches an initial 5 year contract and seeing if they improved the program or not. If they didn’t, move on to someone else. I am not for firing a women’s basketball coach because they lost to Dillard. We then have to add additional cost to a money losing endeavor with no guarantee for improvement. Remember, not every disappointing/ losing season has to be met with swift punishment. I think you handle should change to the Grim Reaper.

Robichaux is a perfect example of the fanbase's comfort level. So was Lotief. All issues are ignored or marginalized because of the discomfort that comes from change. People want Robe as their dad. They take it personal when anyone doesn't adore him. To me...he is a state employee. Makes it a lot easier to see his faults.

AND? They are all human beings. ALL human beings have faults, except you of course. Any of the next ones will have faults.
