I’m willing to give the new ballpark some time to actually bare fruit, but regardless, we play in a top flight ball park in America. We have an excellent reputation in college baseball, on the field and off he field. Our fans travel and do a very good job of it. We are the top supported baseball program in America (not named LSU, Florida, or Texas) from a media standpoint. I could go on..

Are we going to come up short from time to time? Everyone does. Should we not expect to be a contender for league, regional and super regional championships every year? Based on everything above, you bet your ___ we should.
I do agree with most of what you say, I just don’t think we should be contending for Super Regionals every year. We rarely if ever get top20 recruiting classes, why should we be one of the top16 teams most years? Let’s see how well we recruit over the next few years. If we can get players on par with the mid tier SEC teams, then I will completely agree with your assessment.

He could. Time to hold his feet to the fire. Not making the change last year because JT apparently had some personal issues or he was given too much responsibility was red flag one. Retaining him throughout this season because tony won't fire a coach midseason, red flag two. We get too far in the near future without an announcement, I will stand by my OP. Do you want to be a baseball coach or a life coach? Some decisions are hard. I'm afraid that's not the only hard decision he needs to make, but I'll leave that one to cajunhawk. The turnaround needs to start and start fast. Otherwise Dr. Maggard will also notice the ROI on that $16M reducing at an alarming rate.

    That's not necessarily true.

Edit: the part about if Talbot is here by next week he will be our hitting coach going into next year.

I want Robe to prove me wrong and fire a coach but I won't hold my breath

Here's something else; I know that Tony doesn't like to openly comment on situations such as the ones we are discussing in this thread, and I respect that to an extent (however, I do find that he can be a bit arrogant/condescending about it at times). However, as a tax payer and season ticket holder, I, just like all of you, are very similar to stock holders. I believe that I deserve and am entitled to an explanation if JT is retained.

Look I don't think some of you are understanding that down years and bad baseball are two different things. This year we were bad at baseball. That is never acceptable. We gave games away. We disappeared for 7,8,9 innings at a time. We let sunbelt middle relief no-hit us for prolonged stretches. Not just once, a lot. G5 down years happen. The bad baseball part is what makes you different from app st.
I'm not arguing this was a down year for Cajun baseball but some perspective...... We were 9 games above .500. We went 9-11 vs. RPI top 50 teams. We were in discussions for an at large until the end but here you are saying a coach with a 23 year track record should not feel safe.

Would love to know who is on your short list for a replacement. Maybe the Texas State coach? I mean based on your prior post he is better than Robe right? After all they had the second best BA after Coastal??

I still don't know how Robichaux got this team as far as he did.

Well, considering I've stated a handful of times already that I'm not calling for him to be fired, it would be stupid to have a shortlist. What would have to happen for you to hold Tony's feet to the fire instead of blindly defending his every move?

Maybe you mean G5, which I’m pretty sure coastal Carolina barely qualifies for, yet they are 2 years removed from a National Championship and are hosting again this year...
One of the top 5 CC recruiting comments, " You do realize we're about 15 minutes from the beach, right?".

So..what if we miss regionals again next season?...how hot is the fire then?...what’s your suggestive move then?...if it’s fire him...you better have a list ready NOW...if its not to fire him...what are we all arguing about in the now?...

Why should cajunrage have the list ready? That’s Maggard’s job. And as we’ve seen with Napier and Glasco, he can go out and find coaches.

You stated in your prior post.... "Very concerning and no one should feel like their job is safe." I assumed you mean't him being fired... were you talking about getting run over by a bus or something??

I'm guessing it would take me and a dozen other MEN to hold Tony's feet to any fire. From what I know about him he is a pretty tough SOB.

I'm also not blind and I absolutely haven't defended "his every move". Show me where I came close to doing that.

What I have done is to take you to task on your "life coach" comment and you keep changing the narrative because you can't defend your original post. You can't take this season or even last season and deplore his coaching techniques but ignore the prior 21 years and the success that has been had.
