I'm just posting what I've been told by people that I trust. People that have very rarely steered me wrong. Roster will be totally different, coaching staff decisions were made before the end of the season and JT will not be our hitting coach.

These threads always devolve into people taking shots at Robe and what he HASNT done for this program. I'm just reminding you all, even the Robe haters, what Tony has done here (with regards to sustained national success, not just 2000 & 2014) is nothing short of a miracle. I refuse to bash a guy that literally looks at our program like we do. With passion and love.

Don't worry. Like I said months ago, we will all be happy with the end result.
Roster changes ? Coaching staff decisions ? Let me go there first. Yeah, we had roster changes. Half or more of the 2018 freshman position players who Talbot recruited were either cut or sent to a JUCO. There’s your roster change. Of course we have new kids coming in but do you really believe that we’ll see a total revamp of position players from what we saw last season ? One outfielder will be new and by the grace of God, hopefully we get some corner infielders that can hit and drive in runs. On to the coaching staff. We all know what’s happing there. Talbot wasn’t fired, Jake Wells comes in a “co-hitting coach” (yes I said co) because that’s what it’ll be, Babs goes to Baseball Ops and Freeman is still the pitching coach. I’m sure we all could use a happy ending though.

All of what you stated may be true, but I'm going to what to see what happens before I jump off the bridge with a loose around my neck. I spoke to Coach Rob yesterday and he said the changes will be made, either he will turn it around or the game will pass him by. I'm willing to see what happens with the changes and what they look like on fall ball. I will give him that because he has earned it in my book.

And I agree with you. I hope this team wins 50 plus games next season. I’m just trying to be realistic on how or if we can get better. That’s all. It appears that we’ll have basically the same offense minus a couple of guys. As I stated a while back, 23 wins on the pitching staff walked out the door from last season. Personally, I think pitching will be a huge concern going in. I won’t go any further with that. I’m just hoping we can score some runs or it may very well be a repeat of 2018.

To read it that way leaves me uneasy. It sounds like Robe knows his time may be done.

Just turn the other cheek and move on.

The new hire is obviously the worst kept secret in UL athletics. There is no announcement because to do so would draw unwelcome attention to the team's Achilles heal, its woeful decline of offensive production.

To announce the change invites the obvious questions about JT's future, when the need for change arrived, and what type of improvements are expected, why a Cape Cod League All-Star can't crack the worst line-up in years, and why did the offense get so pitiful to begin with, recruiting, coaching, both, or neither.

First logical explanation (of the break from the norm) I've seen on the topic.

An analogy: You know I can't do Algebra. I know I can't do Algebra. I've signed up for Algebra tutoring in the fall. Why do we need to discuss my Algebra deficiency right now?

Grad Assistants were the only ones not back for baseball just looking on the surface. Of course, then you go into the deep dive of this thread and can assume that one coach was moved around and one operations position opened. But on the surface the coaches were all back

    Softball had 4 assistants leave.
