So you look at it as we already have the money so who cares? Interesting.... We don't have the luxury some schools have. I guarantee you that these suites are relied upon to make ends meet. I don't know if these commitments are legally binding but either way, they are of concern. Either word spreads that we get your money and that's all we care about. Or they don't renew and we have to find somewhere else to fill that gap. Either way, empty suites are not good.

I understand what some of you are saying and don't disagree that UL should strive for more actual butts in the seats. However, it is my understanding that in order to get one of the new suites, a multi year commitment was required and they are not year-to-year deals. Also, how many times have we heard from our former A.D. and current administration that season tickets are the lifeblood of the program. Therefore, it would seem to me that having a sold out stadium based on season ticket sales puts our Baseball program in fairly good shape.

But if I'm wrong, I hope Robe formally announces who the new hitting Coach is real soon so that we will be battling standing room only crowds at the The Teague (Russo) next season! LOL!!!

2017 is latest attendance data that is verified. Cajuns were 9th in avg. attendance and 13th in overall attendance. Of course that is paid which is what everyone else reports as well.

In regards to finances I've been told that we are ahead of where they wanted to be in regards to being able to pay off the stadium loan.

We are moving to the corporate model for increasing our season ticket and suite revenue. Some of the time these seats will go unused. We all want a big time sports program, well we will not get one by catering to everyday fans. We have hired SEC administration and coaches and they will be pushing revenue generation over everything else. I fully expect our football season ticket base to increase dramatically, but suspect butts in the seats will only increase slightly. As has been said the season tickets and suites are where the money is made. Buying a hotdog and beer does not drive the budget.
Trying to get families to walk up and buy tickets to fill a stadium is not the way we become a big time university. Corporate giving is the only way.

The TimesPic did a great study many years ago on where the Saints make all their money. This was during the Brooks years and people where threatening to stop going to the games. What the report revealed is that not showing up for a game had little effect on the Saints bottom line. All the revenue was generated by lease deal, TV, advertising and Suite/season ticket sales. Not going to the game put a dent, but it was minimal. This is where we are going. We will have adds blaring during all timeouts and Corporaitions will be leaned on heavily to support the product both through advertising and ticket sales. The third leg of the stool, TV is where we have traditionally fallen short. Learfield will help some, but getting into a better conference is the only way to take in major dollars. Game day promotions will no doubt be used, but they will do nothing to help increase our budget.

I’m not duggie35...but my answer would be very confident...being Robe has NEVER...as in NOT once in 25 years...a quarter of a CENTURY....had a postseason drought last longer than 2 seasons...my money is on you pumping your chest to your friends in a few years once again about the program we have...

One of the RCAF staff members sat in my office and asked for a “commitment”. You can bet your ___ if I can’t afford to honor that commitment, they aren’t seeing a dime. It’s not a contract and they can’t do anything about it. In today’s economy and the world of
corporate buyouts, commitments aren’t worth squat.
