Thread: Status Quo or Changes

After reviewing the 1137 previous posts on this subject, I have come to the conclusion that there are really only a handful of fans on here that think that the formal announcement of a new hitting Coach is the biggest issue since the Cuban Missile Crisis and will cripple the Baseball program if they don't get answers. Another few would like to hear something, but are not ready to jump off of a cliff if nothing happens tomorrow. And the overwhelming majority are interested, but have more important things in life to deal with than when (or if) a formal announcement of a new hitting coach will be made.

Did I read correctly that some can’t move on to football because of this? 😂...

5 People - Handful of fans on here that think that the formal announcement of a new hitting Coach is the biggest issue since the Cuban Missile Crisis and will cripple the Baseball program if they don't get answers

7 People - Another few would like to hear something, but are not ready to jump off of a cliff if nothing happens tomorrow

The Rest of the World - Overwhelming majority are interested, but have more important things in life to deal with in life than when (or if) a formal announcement of a new hitting coach will be made

I would think an announcement would occur before August 20. That is the day school starts. No critical need for it to occur before then.

Yep, I just can’t go on with life because of this.

I’ve defended against the meltdowns over bullpen, small ball, you name it, for the last decade plus. There are people that are helping pay off that stadium waiting to hear something. I know former players that have voiced concern. We aren’t looking at a roster like we did in 2012 and knew 13 and 14 were going to be good. I have serious doubts about what we have for next year. 3 straight years without postseason is not acceptable and I don’t think anyone would argue that. With radio silence, one can only assume next year will be like the last two.
I don't think I was that confident about 2013 considering plenty of the contributors in 2013 were either freshmen on JUCO's that I didn't know how they would transition.

We weren’t retaining a coach that took the #1 offense in the country to a bottom dweller.

He is doing all those things except for the last one. The last one is being addressed with this new hire.
If you or others do not like the timeline of the moves so be it. Pleasing fans is not his job and frankly is an impossible task. The only coaches who are not hated by some segment of the fan base are the ones who have just been hired. And even those have their detractors. But continue complaining about how our most successful coach runs his program, just don’t expect for everyone of your suggestions to be implemented in the time you see fit. Pleasing you and others here is not his job.
Paid attendance may have been grown but attendance was way down. Even with the high prices of the Loge boxes and patio boxes those people did not show up. It is more than a handful of fans that would like an announcement.

Prior to yesterday, I had made one post about this in 3 weeks. This is very low on my priority list. Just because I don’t bow to the apologists here doesn’t mean I think the world is ending. I just happen to be on vacation and have a little time to come on this board as work has kept me busy lately. I don’t need a formal announcement. A new picture on the roster page of the website would be fine. We were told the problem was “fixed” after 2 years ago. That turned out to be totally false. Minus posters here saying things are happening, there is no reason to believe things will be different next year. As a fan, I’m concerned.

A lot of unoccupied suites this past season.

But, all suites were paid for and committed to for several years! Money is as important as attendance (if not more so). Without the money provided by those that may not always attend, Those of us that do attend would not be sitting in a new and more comfortable facility. Of course monetary donations AND attendance should be the ultimate goal.

And even if they are paid for for several years, fan apathy....especially at the level of these donors....is a troubling sign indeed.
