That simply isn't true, we just haven't in recent years. Joe Robbins was an example of a player with limited tools who we developed and was a hell of a player. I could name many others, but frankly I'm terrible at remembering names and don't feel like doing the research.

Another "shock" to the mid major world ? Highly doubt it. Here we are in mid-July, sucked A%S in a conference tournament that we hosted, and can't announce a hire just shy of a month from when players are to report. That's "special". The pace in which Robe operates is like watching paint dry. Astonishing.

I believe it was the first week of August in 2014 when Freeman and Talbot were announced as new hires. I'm not freaking out. If we get to Fall practice and nothing is announced, my ears will perk up. I don't think there will be an issue though.

But don't let me stop people from melting down and trashing Robe. Carry on.

When you remember, let me know.

Robe is a very good coach, and no doubt he like all men has feet of clay. His overall record is just under 2/3 wins which is actually very good, but not great. He makes mistakes, and sometimes he actually sticks with bad decisions too long.

I don't know if Talbot was a bad decision, I simply know we have not been much of an offensive team since the departure of Deggs, and were also struggling before Deggs. If you're going to move or demote Talbot it's okay to announce it. Then everyone knows a position is open.

For me, an overpaying season ticket owner I'll accept whatever he does, but does not mean I gotta be happy with every decision that often proves wrong, and often not. Clearly Robe makes a lot more high decisions than wrong ones, and frankly nobody knows on any given day which will be which. If Deggs had not addressed his abuse of alcohol that would have been a bad risking move.

I would argue the following guys (outside of Joe Robbins) were developed and improved on campus: Ishmael Edwards, Shug, Kyle Clement, Kennon Fontenot, Logan Stoelke, Alex Pinero, Brenn Conrad, Blake Trahan to some extent, Brian Mills, Nick Thurman, Evan Guillory, Wyatt Marks. I am sure there are others.

I would agree that we haven't developed offensive talent to the extent we should. But we do develop players.

I agree with Rougarou's post here, he hits it on the nail.

Oh so it’s ok for people to get on here and trash hitting coaches and assistants but God forbid someone says a minor negative thing about Robe. Real simple Roug, you fire Talbot back in late May, and you don’t have this cluster&$/k you have going on now. I could care less who is hired but keeping Talbot on board is nothing short of keeping the loyalty card in play. That’s it. I’ve asked more than once on this board, who has Talbot brought in that’s been a game changer ? All I hear is crickets. And for his poor performance he gets the title of recruiting director. Awesome idea.

I have no problem criticizing anyone for not getting the job done. But ppl are trashing Robe for not announcing something in July. No one knows with 100% certainty what Robe has done or not done with resoect to off-season player and staff adjustments. After we know the answers to that I think it is fair to criticize Robe if you don’t like how he handled those issues.

Your question regarding who JT has brought in has been answered and discussed ad nauseum previously. Dad04 and I had a very long discussion about that topic. And you don’t know that a “cluster ____” exists right now. For all we know a hire has been made with no announcement yet for whatever reason. You are speculating. It is mid July and you are flipping out that no announcement has been made. Why not wait until we know the official coaching staff before predicting doom and gloom or that there is a big problem?

It is your opinion that JT should not be maintained in any respect, that’s fine. But many ppl, not just Robe, that know college baseball have the opinion that JT is an asset on the recruiting trail. So Robe has an objective reason to maintain him in that position other than faulty loyalty. JT has had offers to go to prestigious programs to be recruiting coordinator.
