When do we expect the school to announce it. I find it funny that the D1 baseball guys haven't gotten the scoop yet

Wells is too young to have the track record some people are looking for. We may have hired a star in the making. Skip Bertman was a young coach at one time when somebody gave him a chance. He has been in the business for over a decade however and usually has had success. I am optimistic he can help turn this thing around. Personally, I think some youthful energy may help the program.

Don’t talk about Zee and Hammer like that when they’re not around to defend themselves...

A young energetic go getter who can relate to these players is exactly what this program needed. Surely a breathe of fresh air. Cudos to Robe on that BUT it still remains to be seen if the hitting coach whose not the recruiting coordinator will work. I'll argue that point until proven wrong. Way too much contentment in this program and it's "good ole boy" ways and I think you get what and whom I speak of. If this were an actual business based on performance and results along with some "what does XXX bring to the table" questions, heads [plural] would have rolled a while back. Just sayin guys. If you want to play with the big boys, tough decisions go along with that and it's been proven that status quo for the most part seems to be ok around here at least where baseball is concerned. Let me be very clear, I am fine with the new hire. I'll be there and support this staff and the players but it's really hard for me to fathom why we can't be like many other programs out there and cut ties when it's time to cut ties. It truly is a sign of weakness.

I can definitely see that, and I'm sure pulling for him. I just hope that he is given the freedom necessary to be able to flourish.

.....Well maybe time out and let's see how it plays out......my CD has a song called specialty......one part goes-----"let the Jews make the business plans, let the Baptists say we all be damned, let the TV preachers make their money and fame and let the Catholics run the bingo games---you can't be a Budist unless you can cross your feet and you know them Muslim chicks, they gotta cover their head with a sheet"...... So let's see how the new staff and duties play out!!!

That was a really good bowl of soup... ;-)

I don't know J.T. but I know Robe & Babb and believe Wells "fits" the mold. It is a step in the right direction.

It all rests on Robes shoulders now and I think he knows if he does not make the postseason in the next 2 years he may be staring down retirement.

So you wanted Talbot fired and anything less would not have satisfied you. Is that correct? Not saying that is right or wrong. Just asking for clarification.

In addition to recruiting I’m hearing Talbot will also be working closely with the car dealerships to try and grow the car show..his goal is to one day have it take up the entire athletic complex.
