But, to criticize him because he provided us with information that was correct at the time is wrong. Hiring, especially hiring in the field of college athletics, is fluid. The situation constantly changes. The deal is not done until the press conference is held, and, even then, it is sometimes not a done deal. I can remember a couple of times when an official announcement of a hire was made, only to have that person change his/her mind.

In the case of the head football coach, I have no reason to doubt that Maggard thought he had his man in Prye, only to have Penn State make a counter offer that he couldn't refuse. Mr. Town gave, I thought, a very believable explanation as to what happened in the latest instance.

Also, in this latest instance, several other members, whom , I believe, or trustworthy, were giving us the same information. In short, while I find ome of Mr. Town's comments cringe worthy I have no reson to doubt the veracity of his posts when he giving us information.
It’s all in the way “Mr. Town’s” (reach-around much?) act like he always knows everything while no one else on here knows anything then he ends up being wrong. It’s hilarious.

If someone has inside information that is always wrong do they really know more than someone who doesn’t claim to have any inside information?

The way Mr. Rock Solid runs to Ragin Pagin to brag about the inside information he has and assures everyone else they have no idea and that he isn’t going to share it is childish. When this information proves to be incorrect over and over it makes him look rediculous.

I asked a question yesterday about who has this guy really brought in that has been a game changer ? One guy responded. I mean, is that even relevant ? So again, we have two different positions where normally it’s just one. I’m sorry but in my eyes, Jake Wells May turn out to be a great hire but JT should have been gone June 1st. It’s a joke giving JT the keys to finding your talent when Wells seems to be more than capable. This is a slap in Well’s face in fact. Rant over.
I understand the frustration, and from the outside looking in, you would seem to be right. But again, Talbot being on staff has gotten us into rooms that we’ve never been in before. Nose to nose with programs like UNC, Miami, TCU, UT and Texas A&M, battling it out for players... and winning our share of commitments. The pipeline is a clique.. Especially in the south.. You either have a guy in the “clique”, or you don’t.

We have a development problem, not a recruiting problem. I’m happy JT will be on staff, and I’m happy he won’t be coaching on the field.

I've been told that prior to JT, several of our hitting coaches were burnt out from the recruiting load they had to carry.

I know many knowledgeable posters think JT is not a good recruiter, but Robe does see him as a great closer (basically a good salesman). Where JT may need guidance, and where Wells may contribute is in targeting prospects that fit our program and system well. I don't think Robe is scared to fire JT. JT has had other offers from good programs to be a recruiting coordinator. I think Robe believes he is maintaining an asset and using that asset to its most effective capabilities.

Explain how I (and several others posting identical information) was wrong genius...

I suppose you idiots that hate MAT and the FBS would prefer to have no information at all..

    Appreciate your thoughts.
To give you some context, this clown has been a MAT hater for a long time. I suspect a Farmer or admin sycophant, as his/her criticisms seemed to be more pronounced after the public crucification of the Old Guard at UL in the summers of 2015 and 2016. You can read all about it in a thread titled “The Culprits”.. Another instance where I was SO DAMNED WRONG, the every staff member from those posts have been fired, reassigned or “retired”.

This axg turd ignores the good information we provide on most all things relating to Louisiana Athletics. It’s all about “rock solid... blah blah blah”. His/Her agenda is crystal clear for anyone to see here, and I think most regular posters figured that out a long time ago. (Notice his/her minimal posts adding to any conversation but rash of posts directed at me and the football coach search. It’s hilarious really).

Anyway, I’m all in on Wells.

To be fair, MAT gives credit to others that have information as well.

MAT has made some offending posts, but he's right a lot more than he's wrong. He's 100% right on this one.

Recruiting, like most jobs, is simply hard work. Tons of travel, phone calls, rejection, etc.

I still feel the need to point out that for the second straight coaching search you made post after posts claiming to have insider information trying to make others feel uninformed and your information ended up being wrong.

Time to pump the brakes about how you are right a high percentage of the time?
“Trying to make others feel uninformed”???

Uh what... What kind of super duper inferiority complex do you carry around, my man? 95% of my posts on this topic was to be patient, that a change was coming, and the timeline I gave was spot on..

Don’t let the hate become you...

This board used to be crawling with sniveling little ___ kissers, admin sycophants, “Go to hell McNeese” fans, trolls and loser mentality “know your placers”.. It was necessary, in my view, to be offensive for a time..

I’m not nearly the jerk that I used to be on here.. And I never start _____ with anyone.. But I will finish it, as you know by now..

The matter and the manner.. a wise man once schooled me on the topic.. I’ve tried to pivot, and think I’ve done it for the most part..

But ppl with an axe to grind still will get b|tch slapped..

This sounds closest to the truth.
