How much time do they spend working on bunting? What do they do to practice the bunt? How much more do our guys work on bunting in comparison to other successful offensive teams? If you can't answer that, your assertion is moot and based on no facts. Btw, bunting occurs during an at bat, and unless you sacrifice it counts as an at bat.

Not a Tech fan sir !! Promise you that. No clue how that happened. I’m an 8 track man in a CD world !! I’d have no clue how to do that. I did learn how to remove it.

I guess QBs should never practice handing off because it will affect their completion percentage. All that practice time should be devoted to throwing only. Should have learned how to hand off in high school.

Back when things were always peaceful I made avatars for different schools.

I would for some unknown reason or by mistake have had to label someone a Tech fan. It would grant them access to their schools avatar.

The software has changed since then.

I fully understand the bunting practice time devotion delima.

They come to UL not knowing how to bunt. Time needs to be set aside to teach.

    Batting average suffers.

It's not impossible to do both but like I said "it's a tall order."

I do not believe you understand if you really believe that bunting drills hurt batting average. Bunting is part of batting practice at every level of the game. It is rare our incoming players have to be taught how to hunt as opposed to put through regular drills meant to keep the skill sharp, or to sharpen it for players that will be expected to bunt more or who are very bad at it.

Bunting can help batting average in more than one way. The obvious is being able to bunt for a base hit. Bunting drills help hand eye coordination and get timing down better. When bunting you are still seeing a pitch giving your eyes more training (the more pitches you see the better). It helps you continue developing your understanding of the strike zone. It helps you become a more selective and better hitter.

Of course you don't spend the majority of offensive drills on bunting. I don't think Robe coached teams do either.

They don’t spend a ton of time on it..apparently turbine couldn’t bunt growing up or didn’t play baseball. It’s not Rocket surgery..it’s a bunt.

If I was a diehard bunt fan I would absolutely love everything you just said.

But I'm not and I don't believe the near catchers vantage point a bunter sees makes him a better hitter when using a completely different muscle set to hit.

    It's about placement.

This not taking bunting seriously is certainly part of the problem.
