I don't think he would. Any new hitting coach we would get would not allow that.

As long as it’s not hitting what’s the problem? Unless you have something personally against him. He has done great on the recruiting trail so what do you think he might do?

If he stays, goes, or stays in another capacity, it doesn't spell "personal" it spells "professional."

You must be confusing Personal with Personnel.

Why would you fear that? Does he wiggle his way into pitching now? He instructs the hitters now because he is the hitting coach. If he has a different title that is what he will over see.

I'm more worried about guys higher up in the hierarchy that like to wiggle their way into batters box and interfere with a hitting coach's strategies.

That's why should we hire a new hitting coach (which I am confident we will), he needs to be an alpha similar to a certain hitting coach we had a few years back. Full ownership of the offense.

The problem is a coach was brought in and his results do not warrant continued employment in the program. But the status quo remains and he'll be "reassigned" within the program. Someone lacks the ability to make a difficult decision and let a coach move on. Instead, it's always the coach that moves on to another coaching job or leaving baseball altogether.

Exactly as i thought, it’s not just about getting a new hitting coach. If Tony still thinks he can be valuable to the program then so be it.

Jeremy Talbot, IMO, is a subpar hitting instructor/teacher and abysmal in-game manager.

Jeremy Talbot, IMO, is one of the best recruiters we’ve ever had here.

We have to be able to understand both can be true.

How do we know he has done great on the recruiting trail?

Brought in some of the highest rated classes we have ever had. Gotten kids other higher profile schools wanted. Look at what these guys did in high school. Look what they go do the summer leagues.
