I almost feel like if we’re going to grab a hitting coach from a smaller school or
not from a stronger conference, it’s almost like what’s the point. Particularly since Talbot is staying. And I’m NOT saying that Talbot should remain as hitting coach. All you’ve done is add a salary and moved Babs into a position (Baseball Ops) that at one time paid extremely minimal money to now paying Babs what Babs makes unless he’d take a small cut in pay which would still be way more that what the position has been worth in the past. Ask Chris Domingue. Just doesn’t make good business sense to me.
You found the problem. You shouldn’t need to spend time perfecting the bunt with a college baseball player. It’s no longer taught in rec and high school ball. It’s really sad. 5 pitches in bp is really all you need when you know how to bunt. And if you don’t, that’s on you to do outside of practice.
