Wondering how long this will go on. I remember all those bunts from Jace and Caleb because they couldn’t hit....

He is hitting .150 because of all the missed at bats in the fall from practicing the bunt.

That, and every bunt lowers his batting average, so you can say "see, he needs to bunt."

And when we hit well as a team again and still in top 10 in sac bunts will that be more “magic”?

I've actually been impressed by what you've known and told the ppl posting that you were a tech fan to lay off. You were too accurate.

I almost feel like if we’re going to grab a hitting coach from a smaller school or
not from a stronger conference, it’s almost like what’s the point. Particularly since Talbot is staying. And I’m NOT saying that Talbot should remain as hitting coach. All you’ve done is add a salary and moved Babs into a position (Baseball Ops) that at one time paid extremely minimal money to now paying Babs what Babs makes unless he’d take a small cut in pay which would still be way more that what the position has been worth in the past. Ask Chris Domingue. Just doesn’t make good business sense to me.

I'm including the times a player asked to bunt for his first 2 strikes then swing for his third. Basically a 1-swing at bat.

You found the problem. You shouldn’t need to spend time perfecting the bunt with a college baseball player. It’s no longer taught in rec and high school ball. It’s really sad. 5 pitches in bp is really all you need when you know how to bunt. And if you don’t, that’s on you to do outside of practice.
