From what he has done so far, as well as pushing for a newly renovated stadium stadium and increasing ticket fees and coaching salaries, I would say that the writing is on the wall. He’s looking to make us a threat to the rest of the G5 and beyond.

And I’m not talking about just a threat in the Sun Belt Conference. This man has some extraordinary goals for this program. Stay tuned.....

Hope we get out of the SBC soon. I personally think the product on the field does not justify the cost of paying for season tickets. If we become a top10 G5 team maybe we can get people (like me) to pay more for the product.

It’s really about thinking ahead. Maggard and his staff are looking beyond just this upcoming football season. They’re looking 5-10 years into the future and taking the steps in the present to get there. And I think the overall feel of the fan base is at a “wait and see” stage at the moment which is understandable.

But one of the bigger flaws of our way of thinking around here is that we want a lot more while doing the bare minimum, and that’s not how college athletics succeeds in the long run. If we want to be a big time school, we have to act that way.

That starts by getting people to stop crossing the basin. We need acadiana people to support Acadiana first. Maybe a remodeled Cajun Field we with modern amenities will help

A-freaking-men...I will personally start a thread when the “Shop Local” campaign starts...and call out all store participants who don’t support The local university...

We did that 15 years ago. It worked. Need a second wave, and this time, we need to keep the casual fan. At that point, we explode.

When I find out about those businesses, I stop spending my money there. I encourage everyone else to do the same.

It starts by giving a reason for them to support. And that’s what the administration is doing now. For the past 40 years, if the administration didn’t care, then why should the fans? That’s the biggest issue. At the same time, those who stayed need to understand that they’re going to have to change their ways after 40 years of complacency. The success you saw in 2014 across the board in our athletic program was great, but it was a perfect storm with no particular long-term goal. Now, we have an opportunity to achieve that type of success with an end-game associated with it.

......I am not going nuts on this depending.....we have a group of State Farm agents in our area who contribute and support our group package for UL.....some are diehard UL fans and others are big LSU alumni and fans, but they contribute to the group cause for UL athletic advertising....then they are agents that are in the Acadian area but do not participate in spite of urging by the group.....this is very disappointing to the rest of the contributors.....ask your agent if they are backers.
