Absolutely not, UL shouldn't worry about season tickets as write offs. My post was more along the lines that it wouldn't be out of line to charge more for facilities used by the car show, selling concessions, etc.....

There should be a market cost given to all prospective users of university property. If you don't like the price then don't use it.

Can't think of another place that the LADA would hold the car show in Lafayette. That should mean our rates should be at a premium. Simple supply and demand.

I'm sure any negotiations to come here would be unaffordable for our university to pay. What reason would Alabama have to play away from home, out of conference, unless it was a really good financial payout?

Being the only supply, is a huge upward pressure on cost.

Often, part of the supply/demand scenario includes, 'if you don't buy my supply, someone else will.'

In the absence of another buyer, there is downward pressure on value.

    Let the negotiations begin.

It’s called a car allowance and the entity that issues the allowance can write off it off.

This was pretty much my whole argument in a nutshell in the parking thread that I started a month ago.

But of course, I “don’t see the bigger picture.”

I was just looking at some pics of stadiums this is a better example I think what CF would look like. I had to throw this one out. Think whole lot bigger and nicer suites, premium seating, and press box on the west side than this stadium.

That could be legit. I really do think that bringing the stadium up to code will cost us somewhere between $60-80M.

Alabama will never visit Cajun Field again. I’m trying to think the last time they played a road game out of conference and I think it was against Penn state in like 2010. They play neutral site games in Dallas or Atlanta to open up the year against other P5’s. Our only opportunity to get them here would be a miss st type deal in the superdome and it would have to be something like a 3 or 4 for 1.

As relating to the study on premium seating, I would imagine at this point of our program, there isn't a whole lot of appetite for such a thing. Even with winning, it's still the Sun Belt and that won't draw in people beyond the core fans. It's not just the product we put on the field, it's the product we are playing against too. However, if you listen to some on this forum, we would never build suites because we have never had them and we have of history of not selling them in Cajun Field. Right? No, we will build them and work to sell them, just like seats (approx 40k is fine for now, we don't need 30k to make it look better)
In order to make the premium seating (PSL) work, it would take fans/donors to share the same vision as Maggard has.

I wonder if there are enough of them to do that.........

    This is an excellent point.
If RP is any representation, 80% of the fanbase would laugh Maggard out of the room if they heard what his plans were.
