Some of you talk about needing additional seating for the future. Why do you feel like the future is going to result in more fans? Concrete evidence is asked to support your answer.
We haven't needed more seating in 30 plus years, why now?
But having a game once every 5 years that meets our stadiums capacity shouldn't be the driving force. 25,000 seats to me would be sufficient and let those "high capacity" games once every half decade turn people away.
We have excess capacity now and that won't change anytime soon. So get rid of it.
To me just get rid of the top deck and just put in the suites, PB etc. and bowl in the SEZ, then put a canopy over the entire structure. That way we can have all the perks that a big stadium has. Plus we can try to maybe get a semi-pro soccer, concerts etc. at CF. Then try to add more chair back seats. We have to make it luxurious for the people who are going to the game ( Quality over Quantity).Win Win if we ever need to expand just expand on the visitor side and that is it.
Right you are. This is about creating a demand. I will give a personal example. I have Saints season tickets because it is a good product and if I can’t go to a game I can sell them on the secondary market and get my money back. I do not have Pelicans season tickets, not because it’s a bad product but because the tickets are worthless on the secondary market. I can get awesome seats for a low price for any game not involving the cavs or Warriors. UL is not close to Pelicans territory. We have a mediocre product with zero demand. How is having 40k seats going to help with that? I do think we are on the right track with our administration and coach. Lets make an intimate but hostile environment to help us win all our home games. I would advocate 30k, but could see 35k as the university desired number.
Thatbwill all ahevbto done anyway. This is going to be a nightmare renovation. The end zone project was quick and easy because nothing was there to begin with. It was just a hill and even that had hangups.
Now you are talking about demo, removal, and new construction. This is gonna be a nightmare.
