I don't understand how we developed a Master Plan with stadium design, enacted the first phase with the SEZ in 2014, and are using the same firm now to re-evaluate, yet it will take 6-18 months to redesign and address any structural issues. Why weren't structural issues addressed when developing the original Master Plan? Better yet, how was a Master Plan and stadium design developed without addressing structural issues? If the same firm is being used, redesign should not take up to 1.5 years.

Big meeting today with same architectural firm that did Russo Park and a bunch of local folks to review previous plans etc. They will have a feasibility study in about 6 to 8 weeks. Entire interview will be on espn1420 web site later today. Maggard did say that he was not interested in adding seats.

To me it just sounds like an excuse to what around to see if money can be magically raised, and also to see how the oilfield does.

Conceptual drawings and architectural designs are 2 different things. Where did you ever see a stadium design beyond a concept? Even if they did address them, that was 5 years ago..i think common sense would be to revisit it. Or we could just hurry up and spend 50-60 million dollars and do it wrong.

The original timeline and plan was trashed when we bumped up the baseball stadium. Once that happened, everything became negotiable.

Now, they are meeting to come up with a new "plan" to address the stuff left from the original "plan". It has been quite a while sine the original "plan" was released. A new "plan" must address the financial/political realities of today.

Would that be Abell & Crozier?

I have been out of the loop with regards to the stadium for a while but the latest “scuttlebutt” I’m getting is that a new stadium is much more in play than some seem to think. I won’t go as far as saying that option is the ‘leader in the clubhouse’, but don’t be shocked if it happens.

I feel like this is a dumb question, but shooters gotta shoot: if we build an entire new stadium, would we go a season or part of a season without a home stadium? Relocate to Clark field? (joking)

Maggard is quoted in the DA as saying “It will be a renovation." I don't think he'd go on record with the DA and let that be printed and then end up having a brand new stadium built.

Maggard said that won't happen both in the interview with Buckley reported in today's Advertiser and on ESPN1420 this morning. He also confirmed he has no interest in adding capacity and I would not be surprised if the new renovation design results in less capacity. A big focus of his comments on this issue was the "premium" seating potential. On another note, they have set a goal of 14000 season tickets. Quite a challenge in this economy. They will put more effort into the surrounding parishes than the past. I wished he would have commented on improving student attendance as that is key. Tying that to the stadium, I think it is critical they find a way to protect folks on the west side from the blistering sun in the new design.
