They may be studying what the costs are for a new stadium, but it's only to show the value of spending a lot of money on the upgrade and still staying below a new one. This is a smart approach. I'm still convinced, we are not building a new stadium. The political fallout of wasting dollars just a couple of years ago is too much. Dr. Maggard will present a well thought out plan to upgrade Cajun field and the justification to spend those kind of dollars.

  2. UL Football A long-drawn process: What is next for UL's Cajun Field?

First things first: Contrary to what’s been suggested in some circles, from message-board posts to inaccurate out-of-the-area media reports, the University of Louisiana at Lafayette is not considering building a new football stadium.

There are no plans to build at a new site, and there are no plans to raze Cajun Field and rebuild from scratch, Ragin' Cajuns athletic director Bryan Maggard told The Daily Advertiser.

Don't confuse what some say "should" be done with what will/can be done.

I really think we can make Cajun Field one of the best G5 stadiums in the country.

Obviously any redesign/renovation of Cajun Field must achieve an ROI in adding premium seating balanced with keeping existing seats, even concessions affordable for the fans. With some innovation the stadium can be made more aesthetically attractive adding modern amenities that all ticket holders can enjoy and be proud of.

It’s crazy that the idea of us justifying reasons for a new stadium and how it could enhance this program gets covered by the paper. Then ____ down by the administration. To me it just goes to show the actual influence of Ragin Pagin. Also that what was bantered around in this thread had validity.

I just hope they take some of the ideas that were put forward in this thread and actually use them in the renovation of Cajun Field.

I just need to win the power ball and drop $75M in their lap and build a new stadium. Lol

I just hope it don't look like la Techs, that appears like someone built a really nice house in the middle of a run down trailer park. Their press box doesn't blend with the rest of the stadium at all.

..........yep....the new PB especially doesn't mesh with the EZ thing they built, or the very old and outdated bleachers. All in all it looks like a big slipshod affair.

Shows how little the paperback writers have to write about...easier to cover than coming up with your own stuff.
