Man, I love some of these ideas; especially the canopys that can provide some shade when the conference makes us have afternoon games in September! But we had a hell of a time getting the what? 18 million for the baseball stadium? And one guy put in 5 mill. Is there some secret stash of money that I don't know about?

Well that’s what I am wondering, building a new stadium we talking about 100 to 125 million dollars! Hopefully we can come up with cost effective ways to renovate what we have.

NEZ project 10 million, tearing down upper deck and building suites and press box what another 15 million, building the canopy and lights to go around the entire structure of Cajuns Field 5 million. I’ll tack on another 10 million because I have no clue how much these things cost we talking about 40 million dollars.

If we have to bring Cajun Field up to code now we getting into numbers that are hard to fathom.

Gotta get the city involved. Maybe do something similar to the airport tax.

You would have to set up the vote at a time when there are no other elections, then push the Alumni to get out the vote! The airport was a one cent sales tax that lasted for 8 months. I think it generated over 30 mil. If we could pass it for 12 months it may generate close to 50 mil.

A buddy of mine says there are way too many LSU fans in Lafayette for something like this to ever pass, but if you present it as a multi use facility for a possible soccer franchise and music venue I think there might be a chance.

That’s why I think it’s crazy to try to build a new stadium. We just don’t have the money. If we can piecemeal to get Cajun Field up to code, and in the process try to get these renovations done then that is what we are gonna have to do to get this project done.

My .02, both sides of the stadium need to be tore down and brought up to code. The rows are tiny and almost impossible to get in and out of.

I know that will cost a TON more, but it needs to be done. Somehow, someway.

I look at this as an opportunity, if we have to bring everything to code, then both sidelines can be chair back seats!! Be a lot better than those benches they have on the visitor and home side!

That means the stadium would have comfortable seating, it would bring fans closer to the field, with a canopy that would bring out the crowd noise and add to the atmosphere and protect fans from the elements. With premium seating, and suites on the home side. What else could you ask for?

Bad thing is the students would have to move to the SEZ or NEZ in a bowl stadium if it ever got to a point we were selling out every game.

Just1More we have to be reasonable lol.

This thread defines "recruiting to the imagination"

    It's fun.

It will be fun to see whose imagination prevails.

I got to throw this out there! We have upgraded our facilities everything we wanted has gotten done! New Baseball, Softball Field, APC, IPF, Cajun Dome, Track and Field complex etc. In the next 20 yrs we can focus on Improving Cajun Field.

We wouldn’t have to bring everything to code all at once we can do it incrementally over time. ( I hope)

I agree, we should go with chair backs on the east and west side just like Louisville's Papa John's Stadium.

    https://www.rateyourseats.com/mobile...raight-benches

We could add aluminum backed benches in the NEZ to match the new SEZ.

I agree with a canopy and press/club tower on the home side we would have an great atmosphere. Remember, we have a bowl stadium that sits below ground,it will trap sound with the additional seats in the NEZ and it will get very loud.

Where would we play home games for the 2 years or so it would take to build a new one and where would you build it?
