Ah the car show. Got to have the car show.

I miss the corners around the Cox building. Made a salesman soil himself while test driving my favorite car thru there. He made the mistake of saying “shame we got all those cars in front of you, can’t go thru these corners and test her out.” I just waited until everyone cleared. He was talking with Jesus when I hit the first corner...

Imagine closing Jefferson street for a tailgate village on football Saturdays!
The festival could use it to attract major acts that are in New Orleans for the J___ fest.
I can envision an international friendly between the US and France or Belgium.
It would revitalize that area much like BBVA stadium did for that area of Houston.
And what’s the issue South Al has with their stadium?

Ok this is something we could do!! Use your imagination. We can have a canopy that looks similar but bigger that would go all the way around Cajun Field, and still add the press box and suites to the home side just like this, but ours would be a lot nicer.

We probably wouldn't have to mess with Building Code issues.

If it cost $75-100M to renovate Cajun Field and would cost $125M for a brand new stadium, then brand new is the way to go IMO. It would rejuvenate the fan base and local/regional interest.

We also have the property and space to build a new one right next to our current stadium or in the same vicinity. As far as what we do until the stadium is complete, become road warriors or Work a deal out with the super dome.
If it's feasible then it needs to be considered. I just don't know the costs we're dealing with in either case. I don't have a handle on how much quality remains of the existing stadium that we'd want to retain and/or if we're making a mistake retaining it, adding on, and maintaining over a new stadium. I'm sure if we had no existing facility, we'd go very modern.

I'm not going to lie... I am concerned about the condition (and reasonable maintenance costs) of the existing stadium... even after the repairs/upgrades. I would like to see a new alternate designs and cost study that includes the reasonable options.
