Yes there it is! I like that we can put covered seating all the way around to trap crowd noise and block spectators from the sun. Also with the crowd being closer to the field it would increase the sound on the field. Win Win all the way around. Sure Cajun Field if need be can host Lacrosse and Soccer games.
With it bowled in we really have a legit soccer stadium.
Think jonmoon got it figured out take out the seats on the upper deck and leave just the suites and press box on the upper deck, add NEZ seating and put a canopy all the way around Cajun Field with lights, to trap crowd noise
Just got to Imagine the seats not being there on the upper deck but the rest is. With the canopy extending all the way around the stadium
Blow it up and start from scratch. That's my 2 cents opinion.
We can't afford to add two men's sports and only one female sport due to gender equity. I do think that in the long term some of your predictions as far as sports popularity will likely come true. Lacrosse especially has potential as there is enough scoring to make it an enticing TV sport. That significant of a change is probably 20 years away however. Your point of only the Top 30 programs having major support in the future is one that bears attention. Just like the elimination of mid major at large bids is killing interest in college basketball, the focus on only the TV schools will eventually hurt football as well. Many in sports media are failing to realize one changing aspect in the sports world. That is people paying attention to only their own team or having something on TV on casually at home. That is why the early game NFL ratings are not down a lot while some of later games are seeing declining ratings. When the Saints game is over, people do other things now and the same thing happens in most NFL cities. As a result of all these issues, many here have agreed that a huge addition to our football stadium may not be in our best interests. I think those proposing bowling everything in are a small minority I like the 36000 soccer type stadium proposed by Cajun4Life. Great logic in his posts supporting his recommendation.
I don’t know how much it would cost, but if we had something like the above picture it would be awesome. Some fans think the real money is not in the endzones, but seating along the 20’s. I would have to agree that an upper deck like this would generate revenue.
I agree with C4L, JonMoon, Cajun 90 and Local that if we can have something that can trap the sound, and move fans closer to the field then it would make Cajun Field more electric.
If we can have an upper deck like the one in the picture with entirely bowled in structure that would move the fans closer to the field with a canopy that would trap in sound then Cajun Field would be electric.
That’s my 2 cents
