That should leave us with around 35,000 seats, would allow for future expansion with an upper deck on the East side, and give our stadium a finished, big-time look that we need to compliment our other facilities. And, after tearing down the Cox building, build the Square that was initially proposed. We will have one of the finest athletic complexes in the G5 and better than some P5 schools with perhaps the least expensive approach.
I agree, we don't need a huge upper deck tear down the upper deck, and build just a small one. Just make it premium seating, with suites and a nice press box. Spend the rest to bringing everything else to code. We did that we should be fine.

Then later on in the future we can decide to either add a upper deck to the visitor side, or bowl in the NEZ.

    That's just my opinion.

This is Maryland we can do this to our home side just by taking it down.

If you change the west side to current codes with the tower, could you leave the east side "as is"?

We won't need the upper deck on the visitor side, but it's an idea if we would ever need to add on, and personally I would bowl it in before I would add a top deck to the visitor side. This thing would look nice at Cajun Field!!

I like the look of Maryland's stadium. Brings fans closer to the field.

If we ever needed to expand here is what it would look like. The upper deck on the visitor side wouldn't have to be that big if we did the NEZ project. This stadium holds 54,000, chances are we wouldn’t need that, but the option to build is there if we needed to expand.

Bowling in the end zone was a waste of money. I don’t want to double down on bowling in the other side for probably 10m with no financial return. Looking finished to me is secondary to having more seating between the 20s that can generate revenue. Putting that money to better use seems smart considering our financial situation.

Question, if the stadium got condemned as some have suggested would there be some type Of insurance payout that would give us the seed money to build an all new facility?

I don't know who did this renovated Cajun Field? Add this with the Maryland tower with premium seating, suites, restaurants, stores, press box etc. is the route we need to take. We could add the top section of the visitor side before we added to the NEZ.

I like this idea from an economic perspective of bringing fans closer to the field by bowling the stadium with a multi use tower like Troy on the home side.

Assuming the building code Gods approve, this is my choice as well. Do the NEZ. Tear down upper deck. Build a multi-use tower like the above pics. Years down the road, if the train is still rolling, a smallish upper deck could easily be added to the visitor side.

It’s like talking to a brick wall. You are 100% correct, the SEZ was a huge waste of money and now people want to add seats to another area no one wants to sit in. Suites and seats between to 20’s generate revenue. I really don’t care how it is done, just make it the main focus.

A home field building/deck with an exterior designed similar to the "Tigue" to give some symmetry to the look of the athletic complex.
