It's not how many wins you get in a season that will put butts in the seats, it's the quality of those wins that will. Going 12-0 against Sunbelt teams will not cause a large enough increase in ticket holders to justify renovating or building a new stadium.

Now it's a lot easier said than done, but it can be done. I'm tired of playing "money" games. I want the Cajuns to start winning those money games. I'm hoping Coach Napier is the coach to get us there.
Agreed!! We never really tried in money games. It was like we were there to collect a check. People like Troy, App St., GS, even freaking ULM have won some of there money games, but we get pummeled like 0-52. Louisiana needs to show some fight and start to win these games.

If we do have to build a brand new stadium. The one in the picture with Cajun Field is called the Allianz Stadion. It is a stadium located in Vienna Austria. Capacity 28k, 53 million Euro's or 71 million U.S dollars, built in 2016. We probably could raise the seating to 35k without adding to much cost. All chair back seats, and It’s made out of Concrete

But could we just demo the current upper deck, build a new one with a new PB that is much lower, and suites along the east and west sides.....and also include a canopy like the one in your pic above....for the $60-75 million that is currently projected for the renovation? That would keep the cap @40-45K

IDK to me Cajun Field already has this type of design. There is no need to build a new stadium unless we have to. If it cost cost us 100 million to renovate Cajun Field then I probably would take a 70 million dollar stadium with this type of design over a 100 million dollar Cajun Field with the exact same features.

Wanna say it’s concrete, plus it wouldnt be as hot with the covered seating. If we wanted to install fans on the canopy to blow onto the the spectators we probably could.

Thats' my point....seems like we already a lot of what that pic has. Of course, this would not address the structural and code issues of the lower bowls.

Something else to consider. Utilities just aren't there to handle many modern stadium features. Example - Electrical systems. Modern stadiums are power hungry monsters and it is my understanding the current stadium simple can't handle much more. Not to mention the structured wiring systems that a modern stadium needs to have in place. San Francisco's park has over 1200 wireless access points, 100's of TV's and concession displays, security cameras, cell phone repeaters, POS systems, etc. True we aren't an NFL stadium but we definitely need major upgrades.

The stadium is nearly 50 years old and it becomes a very questionable endeavor to install all that upgraded utility on top of old and apparently unstable infrastructure.

I know LED lighting was too pricey for Russo Park, but if you're rebuilding a stadium I'd bet the economy of scale for the complete facility would probably generate some cost savings over older less efficient lighting. There are probably some other items that could be cost saving as well.
