Eloquently put, MAT!!
My sister, Bro-n-law and I stayed at the Embassy in BR where the Fordham team was staying - all the girls raved about our team after we beat them - did not have a single nice thing to say about the Lady Tiggers and coaches other than to kick their derrieres. One of the assistant coaches said she was now a bigtime Cajun Fan - wants me to send her a Ragin Cajun t-shirt to NYC where she lives and I am gonna do it.
I just love being a Ragin Cajun fan!!! Again, MAT, great post!
For me I expect to win the conference and tournament ever year I am a fan. Everyone deals with adversity some run for cover others take it on head first. Our SB team took it on head first they refuse to make excuses for anything and for that I am so proud of them. As for Coach Glasco I am a fan and will be critical at times but I must say I am proud of what you did with this team and I'm looking forward to next year. Congratulations to all the Cajuns involved with the success we had this year. GEAUX CAJUNS
No way in heck would I have ever thought this season would have turned out the way it did. In fact, I thought Coach Glasco would have a year to adjust and that this year would be written off before it began. Thank you Coach Glasco for showing us all wrong. Thank you ladies for staying and showing us all wrong. It would have been so simple to throw in the towel before the season began, but they showed their true grit. This has to go down as one of the best teams and season ever (and I'm not talking record wise).
Geaux Cajuns!!!

Need to invite Fordam to Lafayette for one of the tourneys so they can get fed like royalty.
Very, very well said.
Like many here, I wondered what type of season this team could put together. On one hand, I felt like we still had talent returning in Kara, Kourtney, Lexie, and Kelli, and I was looking forward to what Alyssa Dalton would bring to the table as well as others like Beth Ashley and the new faces other than Alyssa. On the other hand, I didn't know how the team would react to all the turmoil, and what their mindset would be after losing some top performers. But beyond the loss of the 3 key departures that everyone talks about, consider how many friends and teammates were no longer here (Jaime Landry, Abby Sterling, Shannon Theriot, Brittany Nollkamper, Allie Medlin). Just look at the size of the roster - its now 14 or 15 shy of where it was last year, even after adding several new faces. And lastly, add to that the loss of Brittany Holland to injury and the fact that a couple of our promising transfers had to sit out the season.
In spite of everything, they accomplished soooo much!
All things considered, I couldn't be prouder of any sports team in the history of this University.
The players, the coaches, the parents cannot be thanked enough. Thanks for your courage, your dedication, your love for the university and each other.
You gave us so many things to cheer about. You are truly heroes, but most importantly, you are true CAJUNS, with the spirit of improvisation and a vocabulary and attitude that doesn't know the word quit.
Thank you again. I'm ready for next year already!
Thank You Cajuns! That was a fun season. I was ____ed all night Sunday but am finally over it and realizing that the energy I put forth being angry at that dumbass umpire would be much better spent recognizing what this Cajun softball team, and COACHING STAFF, accomplished.
Seeing a Cajun athletics team overcome challenges like what this team faced this year is what makes me proud to be a Ragin’ Cajun.
P.S. Kelly Martinez has been one of my favorite Cajun softball players for the last four seasons. Over the last two weeks her play and determination to lead this team as a senior elevated her from a favorite to an all-time GREAT Cajun softball player. What a career she has had as a Ragin’ Cajun!
Can’t wait for next season! Geaux Cajuns!
Awesome season for our softball team!!! Summer was amazing on the mound down the stretch. She will be a force to be reckoned with next year.
I hope the people who were in the fence and elected to stay feel vindicated. I hate that their final fate was not theirs to determine. Regardless they should feel Proud of their accomplishments.
This was our first season as season ticket holders. We'd catch several games a year in the past, but never seriously considered season tickets because the grandstand was sold out. So when lotief got cannned and started acting uncajun coupled with his cult dropping their season tickets, I told the wife I wanted to show our support for the girls that stayed and for Glasceaux and his staff. So just wanted to. give a big shout out to ML,thanks for helping us get a couple of great grandstand seats!
Well said cajungirl23. This particular year was one for the ages in Ragin Cajun Softball. I'm so proud of these young women. The emotional turmoil was enormous. Yet this group performed lights out. Coach Glasco and his staff proved themselves as well. But I'm especially impressed by the young women. Geaux Cajuns!
