Lott was definitely having trouble timing up the fastball. I liked his approach each at bat. He was attacking when the fastball was in the zone. He was just swinging and missing at a lot of fastballs that were catching a lot of the plate.

DMO was a warrior. I'm very happy for that guy.

Someone let Monroe fans in one of the suites and they were obnoxious. Obnoxious in a good way, they were cheering for their team. But having DMO and Hayden shut them up was sweet.

Hayden was smart to have the approach to jump on the fastball. That guy was easily pumping 93. Hayden jumped on it and got the barrel on it. You get the barrel on 93, the ball will go a long way.

Overall, we need to get more runners on base and more hits with RISP.

Pitchers did their jobs keeping us in the game as we will need again today. Monroe can be sneaky good hitters.

14 LOB. The hits with runners in scoring position I can definitely agree with.

Even with the strikeouts, he’s still 4/10 with 3 homers. OBP .500.

Find me a DH that’s had a better stretch all year on this team.

    I’ll wait...

Towards the end we left a bunch on. We are really good in close, low scoring games, though. Now 11-5 in one run games.

ULM’s closer (Curtis I think) is legit. Very impressed with his stuff.

So what's the deal with Lott and fastballs. Is he just scared of offspeed so he's sitting on changeups and breaking balls? I've never seen a power hitter who can't catch up to 85 mph

I noticed something with him at the App series while watching in person. He does not have or should I say use great arm strength. From what I can see he throws the ball just enough to get the runner out.

Comparing him to Blake Trahan for instance, Blake seemed to have a lot more on his throws from SS to 1st base. As far as range goes, I think he and Blake are similar in that category, Blake maybe a little more range, but very close. Arm strength seems to be the biggest difference in the field.

At the plate, I really like Hayden. I think he will only get better. I really like the top of the lineup next year if everyone comes back, in any order:

    Lahare, Bourgeois and Cantrelle.

I know that their BA is not where it needs to be, but it also seems like McKinnon and Windham are figuring it out late in the season and they are only freshman. The other one that is starting to put it together is Zach Lafluer, unfortunately he is a Senior. Since about mid season he has raised his average about 40 points. If these guys at the bottom of the lineup can help the guys at the top just a little bit we are a dangerous team.

Unfortunately that is not an unusual thought process on this board...

You keep using this stat. Tuesday, for instance, should never have been a 1 run game. Just curious how many of those are included here. Not saying I don’t agree with you that we get it done, but I feel like the stat is a little misleading.

Look I love Cantrelle but his range is not anywhere near Trahan.... He (Cantrelle) is a solid player and may one day be a better hitter but Trahan got to balls that very few in college baseball can get to.

If you don’t see the problem, I can’t help you. This team is winning in spite of JT. We’d be in the hosting conversation with an average offense. We will all enjoy the wins but in the long run, a change needs to be made.

Maybe Lannister is getting ready for his campaign to get the golf coach fired next.
