Thread: Louisiana Softball Makes BR Regional

  1. #1

Default Louisiana Softball Makes BR Regional

Louisiana is the #2 seed going against the #3 seed Houston going into the BR Regional. We really need to buckle down and show we can win this Regional. We need to win games and take one day at a time.

First game is on Friday May 18th at 3:00 P.M.

    Geaux Cajuns!!!

I for one will be shocked if we win this regional.

I too am not confident we can win this regional this year. But I do think we got a favorable draw this year going to B.R. as opposed to many of the other regionals we could have drawn.

It is a good draw considering. Summer can match up against most teams, but where is the offense? Not sure about Fordham or Houston, but LSU-BR can't hit. We have a shot in a pitchers duel if we play them, but otherwise it doesn't look good.

I think us playing in the BR Regional will hopefully light a fire under this team. If we do go against LSU hopefully Glasco understands the importance of us beating LSU in this regional. Specially at LSU, to me beating them in this regional, is more important then the midweek games in baseball and the NIT tournament in Basketball.

Shocked, Surprised, Not Confident, Criticize, etc. . . .

Folks, In December, we were not even sure that we could field a team, much less one that could compete, albeit, at the highest levels.

These ladies and their new coaching staff have done a wonderful job this year, Top 25, Top 25 RPI, 1/2 game out of conference championship, lost in finals of conference tournament after beating TST in the second round and now a 2 cede in a regional in which we match up about the best we can. While the team may have lost games they probably should not have lost, all in all, considering the state of circumstances they were faced with from the beginning, they have done pretty damn good.

Hopefully this weekend we continue to pitch well, get a couple of baseball breaks and prevail again like they have done all year.

Then, the same people can continue to be Shocked, Surprised, Not Confident, etc. . . . but they should no longer be in a position criticize . . .

There's one thing Glasco has that the previous coach did not. That is... Lots and lots of experience playing against Torina. He knows how to beat her.

Great post.....where we are today as to where we thought we'd be at this point in December is nothing less than amazing.

    GEAUX Cajuns!

P.S. I also went to my first softball games ever in Lamson this past weekend. Was blown away by the passion of these fans and players.
