I dont think we can retain focus and hitting to win the conference tourney . I think we finish strong and finish close. Oh, and Robe does what he needs to do with our hitting coach and whoever else he deems to be not doing his job.

Would be ashame for the Sun belt to not get at least 2 teams in this year. SBC’s RPI is sitting at 7th highest conference RPI currently.
As of today, the Sun Belt would be a one bid league unless someone other than Coastal wins the tournament.
The Cajuns can work their way into a bid.
Troy has a good RPI but is in fourth place in the east. And, they do not have a good record against the RPI top 50. They blew a chance to make a statement last night against Miss. St.
South has played their way off the bubble.
Robe's squads are built to win a weekend series, a 4 team Regional and a Super Regional.
They are nowhere near built to win a tournament, the CWS, or the old 8 team Regionals we used to have.
We got to Omaha because of our pitching. We did very well in Omaha because of our hitting. That year we set offensive records. This is not one of those years.
I agree. If you look at the six conferences ranked ahead of us in RPI right now I estimate there are 28 teams worthy of an at-large bid. It would help us out if we didn't end up with a bunch of stolen bids in these leagues. I'm not too concerned with the SEC or ACC but the B12, B10, P12 and American certainly have teams that could make a run in their tournaments and punch a ticket that they otherwise would not get.
This is obviously true for a number of conferences below us as well. The bottom line is that if we don't win the tournament I think we need help from the outside. Meaning "stolen bids" are kept to a minimum this year.
Win the tournament
A few things ...
Agreed that the Sun Belt would likely receive one bid if the season ended today. That said ...
The Cajuns have the same conference record as #5 seed Troy ... and are currently the #6 seed. Even if the Cajuns win the West and are the #2 seed ... the selection committee is going to look at conference record, not tournament seeding.
Yes, Troy is only 3-8 vs. the RPI Top 50 ... but 3-7 of that is vs. the RPI Top 25 ... and 0-4 of that is vs. the top 8. Additionally, if the Cajuns do what we need them to do (move into the RPI Top 50), that will improve Troy's RPI Top 50 (as Troy took 2/3 from the Cajuns).
Troy is in the thick of it (just outside the bubble) and has a chance (like the Cajuns) to get on the inside. Upcoming games vs. #6 Auburn, conference finish, and the conference tournament is an opportunity for them ... as it is for the Cajuns.
