Wow...three weeks left until selection Monday and we are getting some notice by baseball publications.
D1 has us as one of their last 5 out.
Baseball America has us as one of their last 4 out.

In reality ... that is X + Y 'th team out. Where X is the Cajuns' positioning in that left out group (2nd team left out, etc.) and Y is the number of stolen bids that will take place in 2018.

Win the conference tourney
We haven’t won 3 consecutive days yet this year. Would be a good time for a first time in the conference tourney
The fact that we are even in this discussion after our abysmal start is a miracle in itself. Now, it’s time to keep the momentum going and win the games that count, so we can be one of the last 4 IN rather than out.
The field consist of 64 teams. Thirty-one teams are autobids. The other 33 teams are selected by committee. When someone says last X out they mean that these were the teams basically deemed 34-35-36 etc. and were on the verge of making it into the field.
This goes back around to stolen bids. This happens when a team wins an autobid and gets in when they otherwise would not have AND it results in another conference mate taking an at large selection. For example if someone in the bottom half of the SBC were to win the conference tournament that would result (more than likely) in Coastal Carolina taking an at large bid. Where as if Coastal would win the tournament that frees up an at large bid.
The only advantage of being out would be that we would see what kind of corrections or changes they intend to make sooner rather than later. If nothing is done then we would have to assume that they are satisfied with the status quo. If something is done it will be interesting to see what that may be.
In either case, off season moves or changes (or lack thereof) will be interesting to see and I am sure will be subject to extensive discussion on this board and elsewhere.
Technically he's right. App State was a 3 game series in 2 days. Coupled with some days off in between games, we haven't won on 3 consecutive days yet this year.
But in a conference tournament, we don't need to win on 3 consecutive days either. Win on Wednesday and Thursday, and you get Friday off.
