The UL basketball team has signed juco guard Jeremy Hayes; signee Kobe Julien will redshirt next season.

Not a surprise decision to redshirt Julien has been made. Figured that was the case when Smith was signed. Likely a good choice as Kobe won't be ready until December. No need to force his recovery. Hopefully he gets enough practice time so as he will be well prepared to contribute in the fall of 2019.
