I am a fan of Lewis and expected him to be the starter beating out Davis. However, I don't think the Cajuns are a better team with Davis transferring. I am certain we don't know all of the details of the transfer, but as long as Davis was not undermining this staff, our QB depth definitely took a hit.

A lost year. Both QBs faired better when they were inserted into the game versus being the announced starter. Because Nunez has more college experience, he should have a slight edge right now. I am OK with either since I think they will both be starting for us as some point this year due to injury, inconsistent play or blowout losses.

I am seeing this QB race from a much different perspective than most on this board it would appear. QB A had the best QB stats of any one on the roster last season. QB A worked with the #1 offense in the Spring.

Yet, some people here seem to want to hand the job to QB B.
I like Nunez, but he’s not gonna be the guy that can get the most out of this offense. He does a good job running the offense and we can win games with him if the defense plays well, but I have little doubt that Lewis will be the guy when our offense steps on to the field against Grambling.

That may be but every analyst and every fan which attended the spring game agree Lewis looked better in that contest. I agree they both will play but because of what was seen last Saturday I think it will be Lewis. Also Lewis spoke to press after spring game so that may be an indication as well.
