BB G2 Final: UL 9, Tech 4

A lot of young people watch baseball through a football lens. Getting blown out in baseball stings, but it rarely means the ship is sinking. The overreacting here can get annoying, but most of the time it is just entertaining.
As for our bottom 4 hitters, once I made the assumption that they will strike out or ground out weakly to the SS everytime they come up to bat, I started to enjoy the season more. I now get excited when they foul off a pitch or by some miracle get a hit. I feel like I'm getting to see something very few people on this earth get to see.

If we are ten games over .500 by the time the conference tournament ends, we'll be in a regional.

I think this holds true, but I also think it also depends on how we finish in the tournament. If we can make it to at least the semifinals with a record of 10 games over .500, I would be very optimistic with an at-large bid.

The long travel could have affected the outcome of both games. Last week we had just come back from Boone, NC and played Tech at home on Wednesday. This week Tech had just returned from Huntington, WV and played us at home last night. Both home teams looked like they were still suffering from jet lag. Yet another reason to have closer geographic conferences.

Maybe, and maybe they didn’t spend a day traveling. If everything had gone well I don’t think it would have been so tiring. Additionally LTU was the 6th game in 8 days.

Just saying all travel aren’t the same.
