There is always a possibility one of the players from this year's squad does not return. That would open up a 2nd scholarship. Note, I know nothing in detail here. From what I recall, every player was at the banquet this year so if one does not return it may be from someone who has not made a decision yet. Could also be someone on scholarship now returns but pays his own way. Note, the Hayes guy is a JUCO player so he will only have two years to play. While we do have a lot of guards returning, we do not have a "big" guard returning which can do some of the things Frank Bartley and Jonathon Stove did, namely defend other physical guards. Maybe he fits that role. Also, as Express said, Brown is an inside player. If he signs elsewhere, I think they bring in another inside player.

I never thought his decision would be about what big time school will I miss out on if I sign with the Cajuns. IMO, it will rely solely on wanting to come here because of what he's seen here, what he could do for this program and how much it may mean to his father.

Injury to Julien may be a factor as well. Big guard needed to replace Bartley and Stove. Juco team was 22 and 9 in tough Midland Texas area district.

Let’s see, UNC, St Johns or UL? Let’s all be honest with ourselves, we would push our kids to those other schools.
That said, Kudos to Marlin and his staff for putting up the good fight. Let’s continue to build the program, get out of the SBC and maybe then we can start landing these big fish.
