Our first recruiting class with a finished stadium hasn't arrived yet. Go back and look at the players we've signed. We have more guys coming out of HS that will probably be drafted than in the last ten years combined.
and, we only hosted two regionals after Omaha. And, one Super. That doesn't look like a trend.
That's great that we are bringing in some great recruits. But here's the reality. You can have a fantastic recruiting class and STILL underachieve. Heck, we are seeing that now with some of our highly recruited guys on the current roster. One is batting below .160, and the other can't even get in the lineup.
And as for hosting only two regionals since Omaha, we have made eight regionals with two super regionals since then. That's still not a bad track record. And it doesn't change the fact that this palace we built should allow us to maintain the past success instead of decline it. Again, we achieved national respect with a smaller stadium and recruits who weren't as highly touted as we are bringing in today.
Stupid, actually a serious question with all that achievement, I guess. Why are we two spots (# 295) ahead of St. Peters in Slugging %, or On Base, I forget which?
I am not sure Cajun baseball fans are too concerned with the draft, unless it removes good players from the roster.
Bab ball...nothing will change.
I never stated anything about recruiting. I’m just saying this stadium should allow us to maintain success in general. It could be recruiting, coaching, financial support, etc. It’s all fair game.
The greatest positive impact Russo Park will ever have on recruiting is while it was being built.
