    Default Basketball Post Season Banquet

I had the privilege of attending the subject function this evening. While I won't go into much detail, I will list the players honored. Here goes:

    Academic Award-Mason Aucoin
    Leadership-Jonathon Stove
    Defensive MVP-JaKeenan Gant
    Offensive MVP-Frank Bartley
    Outstanding Rebounder-Bryce Washington
    MVP-Frank Bartley
Honorary MVP-These individuals like to remain somewhat anonymous so I won't list them. However Coach Marlin did honor two individuals who are some of the program's biggest supporters.

The Season Highlight Presentation put together by Douglas Domingue was outstanding and I hope some of you get an opportunity to view it.

Finally, the evening ended by thank you comments from the five seniors. Their remarks made everyone in the room proud to support them.

Others who attended feel free to chime in with your observations.

  2. UL Basketball SBC Champion Cajuns Honored At Men's Basketball Banquet

The Sun Belt Conference champion Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns men's basketball team held its annual award dinner on Monday at City Club River Ranch as the players, coaches and fans celebrated the Ragin' Cajuns historic 27-win season.

It was not "by invitation only"

And, Cajuns Mike is correct about the highlight video. Doug Domingue is a ridiculously talented individual.

Format of the banquet is that someone sponsors an eight person table at a set cost. They/ spouse generally get to invite four friends and a player or coach along with his companion joins them. Efforts are also made to to insure their are enough people sponsoring tables so as the parents of players can attend at no cost to them. Request for people to sponsor tables came via team's Facebook page. You do not have to be a rebounders club member to sponsor a table or need to be one if invited as a guest from a sponsor. Large City Club room in which the function was held was full. Finally, I will add that Jay Walker did an outstanding job as emcee of the event last night.
