No one said a thing about changing anything with respect to the way things happen now in baseball. I really don't understand the deal.
You could make the argument that northern teams could sell recruits on all the southern places they'll be traveling early in the season and the ability to play right away. All of those B10 schools have indoor facilities for preseason practices as well. There's also no guarantees that the weather would be any better throughout March either, and Yankee stadium is covered with snow right now. Just throwing it out there.

You don’t think pushing the season back will change anything? Allowing big 10 teams to start buying their way into hosting? No thanks. Maryland can compete but West Virginia can’t? Indiana is currently number 10. A irrefutable fact why? Bc you said so? Or some article? Ive been on my “high horse” about this since the first article came out...if you all can’t see this for what this is you are either blind or haven’t been kicked in the nuts enough by the NCAA.

You are fighting with yourself - throwing up concepts no one else commented on or put forward and refuting them.

The initial statement was that northern teams could not compete because of cold weather, period. A couple other posters, myself included, tried to help you understand why the cold weather affects the ability of the northern teams to compete. Nothing more, nothing less.

No one else in this thread supported or even mentioned any changes which should or could take place. That was all you, followed by irate outburst about why what you put out should not happen. Have fun with yourself.

    Good bye.

I personally am glad he doesn't care what we think because fans have many times been wrong and he's earned his stripes. That said, if he thinks talbot is even serviceable at his job, then he's blind to the problems were having.

Batting average, slugging %, on base % have all declined each year since JT arrived. Are the four related? Not my circus.

Ragin Pagin is far more restrained than many fan message boards. I have no doubt the Athletic Department is well aware of what is being said here. We have a passionate fan base that meets here to discuss an athletic program that they care about and support. Do we have our fair share of asinine comments? Absolutely! Those comments doesn't discount the fact that you have a focus group discussing the direction of UL Athletics on a daily basis. Our administration can gain a considerable amount of information by reading threads and analyzing the content.

Ragin Pagin has played and continues to play an integral role in the UL community.

Every Puerto Rican baseball team will kick a Siberian baseball team's ___. The northern schools don't generate the kind of feeder system locally for baseball as do southern schools. There's a weather component in a multitude of ways that separates the interest levels (by kids, parents, fans, etc) by northern versus southern areas of the country. I'm not arguing about whether the season should accommodate northerners. But to deny that weather differences in regions of the country haven't contributed to the level of interest / and therefore the level of quality of certain sports / is going against a lot of evidence to the contrary. There are a lot of isolated exceptions... but I think you're arguing against some well established truths.

No doubt about it. If an athletic admin isn't reading their biggest fan forum... they're stupid. If they admit they're reading their biggest fan forum... they're stupid.

It’s more lack of interest than the weather. The weather plays some part in lack of interest but how does pushing back the college season change the way their youth baseball is structured? The players they produce up there? It won’t. If we started college hockey but didn’t have the youth structure and interest to go with it, it’s meaningless. It’s strange it’s the power 5 programs complaining because they can’t buy their success. College Baseball has exploded and is working just fine. Pushing the season back won’t help them with their inferior baseball teams.

Like I said, I'm not debating that it isn't a couple of P5s wanting special consideration. But there is some legitimacy to their weather and baseball.

We can’t get anyone to play us at home in basketball or football either and we have great weather.
