There is no media here asking tough questions. The only interviews are softball love-ins on the "Flagship" KPEL.

Ragin Pagin has nothing to do with wins and losses. The situation is ideal. Bigly ballpark, great fanbase, precious little media scrutiny.
Agreed. Only 103.7 asks "the" questions. Somewhat.

Years ago on day ONE that Coach Robe came to then USL, he and I sat down in his office and the clubhouse kicking around ideas to build the Ragin Cajun Baseball program. Essentially, what came out of talks and Baseball Executive meetings(later I was President of) was to Give something NEW to the FANS Each and every year. Thoughts were to build it and they will come, basically. Approximately 250 or so fans were the average attendance way back then, which is a far cry from what it is today. Things like Chairbacks in grand stand, new outfield fence, new scoreboard, game day sponsor board, fresh painted facility, cleaned up bath rooms, Roy Room for USL apparel and souvenirs, right and left field foul poles, box seats down the first and third base lines, new speaker system, etc AND the list goes on! Along the way Robe has mentored many of Ragin Cajun young men/athletes, won titles(conference), went to regionals, and even one CWS, as well as had Seasons his/our teams have struggled. Our team is young and talented, but youth has a way of making you proud one night(LSU x 2), and scratching your head in utter disappointment other nights. Take a deep breath everyone, Robes job in the big picture is to Mentor young athletes to become good men in LIFE and to WIN games, and please understand the Struggles along the way. WE will ALL be, BLESSED with Wins and Great Men for our Ragin Cajun Community. God Bless You and your families, Happy Easter. Remember it is HE who died for us ALL, and walked this earth some 2018+ years ago, was perfect, NO ONE ELSE. Love you.

I don't like them trashing the entire site. This is not the exclusive home of "faceless buffoons". Real buffoons are on here too. LOL. In reality, this is a vibrant fan site. It's the bomb for our players and coaches when things are going great. But it's a savage beast when things are going south in Cajunland. Comes with the territory.

What does get me fired up is trashing fans... any and all fans. Of course, the adorable ones are the school, program, and the coach's favorites. It would be a lonely stadium if you cull the fan base down to only the adorable ones. I've seen some dumbasses at UL go that route.

Nope. There's no sanctuary adorable fan space in Cajunland. You enter knowing the risk. If you're scared, say you're scared... and quietly move away from the fire. But do not think you are going to cook in this kitchen and not see some heat. We cook with grease. Deal with it.
At the risk of boring some with a repeat statement, I suggest coaches, players, and family of both not pay any attention to fan message boards. I also don’t think they should reference them unless a question is asked by the media referencing comments here. Entire focus should be on preparing for competition and improvement as a team and as individuals. It is a FAN board and criticism will occur frequently as that is what fans do at times. Families of course can get offended by what is said as they are protective of their loved ones. On the other hand, people in the administration should at least get reports frequently on what is discussed here. It is a snapshot of what their customers are thinking and occasionally good ideas are put forward.

True, UNLESS....You can do like Will Wade and use it as motivation to win a game, but without the acting like a 2-yr old part.

I completely agree and couldn’t have said it better. Your first advice is absolutely spot on. We are, as a mostly anonymous gathering, capable and probable of saying extremely insulting things. But you cannot host the value of an open opinion fan site and not expect the insults. On one hand it’s unfiltered recon on the state of the fan base. But when you’re the target of that unfiltered opinion, it’s pretty severe. And I totally agree that UL should keep tabs on the base information that comes out of RP. It’s very inexpensive marketing for them. For those that don’t think it captures the raw reality of UL athletics (in particular) are in denial for some personal reason or another. But it’s almost non-consumable by active coaches, athletes, and family of said.

If you’ve ever listened to the fans in the stands talk and yell about/at our own players, no need to come to RP to get butt hurt. Fans can be vicious abet not meaning to.

We got Leger on the shelf from jump. Then injuries early. Not using that as an excuse, but it sure is factual. Season had adversity all over it before the first weekend was over.

Robe is smart. But I’m sure there’s a faction of fans that will crying with my next statement. Just like basketball, baseball, at least this season, will come down to winning the conference tournament.

Now go slap some rabbit on the barbecue grill this fine Easter Sunday!

Every season comes down to winning the conference tournament for virtually all mid majors in basketball. That is why the game is suffering and the powers that be do not even recognize the issue. Baseball wise, key to me is getting consistent weekend starting pitching. Reason I say that is the hitters do not have enough God given talent to do much more than they have done recently. Pitchers do have the ability to raise it another notch. Get that straight and we qualify for our conference tournament. Anything can happen at that point.

The powers that be are well aware of it, who do you think made that happen? They don’t care about attendance at a SBC game...the NCAA brought in over a billion in revenue last year for the first time. They are about the dollar and squeezing mid majors out is their plan and it’s working..literally and figuratively.
