In Robe’s defense... Williams was throwing strikes and locating both the fastball and offspeed. Often times a coach comes with a quick hook when a pitcher isn’t locating his stuff, but if he’s giving up a few hits and locating his stuff, will let the pitcher try to work through it. Williams was allowed to work through his jam and just couldn’t get any outs when he needed them.

If he is locating his stuff, and the opponent is still hitting you does it matter? That's baseball, but they were squaring him up. Clearly his stuff wasn't good enough last night.

I'm guessing Stoelke is dealing with some soarness or something based on Robe saying in the pregame interview that they would "see" about him in the 9th

Now that's it. Do the post game interview like they do the pregame. We know the outcome, so Robe can give all the details why this happen or that happen on tape. So just play it after the game. No problem with a mike. What say?

Don't think so. You do remember we've hosted the tourney before... and didnt qualify to participate? Talk about eating a mouthful of humble pie. I almost hope this group experiences that this year. It's an amazing antidote to thinking you've got it all figured out... and all you have to do is show up and go through the motions. Tony surely hasn't forgotten how that felt.

We walked 7 ASU hitters and struck out 16 times. The only reason we had a chance was ASU left 15 runners on base. Both teams tried to out-suck the other team.
