Thread: Marlin's Record

  1. Default Re: Marlin's Record

Not even close. There’s collusion, and damages. The NCAA is trying to keep the O5 from bolting. When does the next CBS, NCAA basketball contract end?

The P5 may bolt the season that renewal comes up. That way they, Big TV, doesn’t have to pay two big contracts.

I think we are speaking of different things - I was talking the collusion being a causative agent of the damages, in this case being excluded from fair competition in the workplace and the resulting financial loss.

Attached is a good definition from the internet that applies here under Market Allocation:

After all, the president of the NCAA, Dr. Emmerich, is a past chancellor of LSU and just maybe is giving favorable treatment to LSU and the other P5's.
He is about to go to jail after the MSU dr. and the Bribery stuff

Yes, at least for a couple years. That is, of course, if you are giving us two different scenarios that we have to choose from. I still maintain that they don't have to be exclusive of one another. I want us to win the regular season. It shows more consistency. Period. This goes further in helping you create culture and a winning formula in your program.

The tournament should be a by product of that. What stops a team from winning the conference and the conference tournament? Many teams win both. I think we would have had we not had some unfortunate luck with illness and injury.

At some point though, with increased talent in the program and more success, you have to expect the NCAA tournament as a landing destination and it needs to be expected.

Bringing more talent in is surely needed, but according to a certain broadcaster, THIS was the best UL team he has seen, which I call BS on. I can't speak for all fans, but I can tell you that his success this year has earned him only one more year in my book. If he does not make the NCAA tournament next year and does not win some of those games against bigger schools that he has not been able to do up to this point, then I promise you I will not "learn to live with top third" in what is possibly the worst conference in the country. If he is retained after next year without meeting the two conditions that I laid out, I will not attend another game until we have a new coach.
What will you do if we win the conference outright but fail to win the conference tournament again? Similar record against a similar schedule with similar success. Is your opinion going to be he needs to be fired?
