Here are the last 5 years. As I said earlier, the numbers look better, but there are still areas that need much improvement, especially as regards the record vs RPI 1-200 and the scheduling imbalance towards weaker teams. Over 45% of our games in the last 5 years were vs teams with RPI of 201+. Some of that we can't control, but we must attempt to not play any teams 201+ out of conference.

If that turns out to be the case then the administration will take that into consideration in decisions. Maybe I was a little too generous in my belief about top third finishes not resulting in things changing. However regular season championships without a tournament championship will not result in anything new.
Mike,
I respect your opinion, but must take issue. The talent depth may have been an issue, but in my opinion, that type of issue should be overcome by coaching, and I have not seen that since Marlin has been here. Bringing more talent in is surely needed, but according to a certain broadcaster, THIS was the best UL team he has seen, which I call BS on. I can't speak for all fans, but I can tell you that his success this year has earned him only one more year in my book. If he does not make the NCAA tournament next year and does not win some of those games against bigger schools that he has not been able to do up to this point, then I promise you I will not "learn to live with top third" in what is possibly the worst conference in the country. If he is retained after next year without meeting the two conditions that I laid out, I will not attend another game until we have a new coach.
If that happens and enough people follow your example, the administration will take note. As I said, I don’t know what the administration finds acceptable. I was just giving my opinion of their view. Factually the SBC is nowhere near the worst conference in the nation. In 2017, the league was 13th out of 32. I am not sure what the 2018 Numbers are but I recall it being in the low 20’s recently. That means there are approximately 10 leagues below the SBC. Granted the league took a step back this year and hopefully thAt changes next year
Mike , if you’re consistently a one bid league, you’re among the worst. At least by NCAA standards. We weren’t the only conference with outstanding regular season wins who couldn’t get a sniff at an at large. So let’s not quibble about being in the worst league. We’re consistent a one bid league making us not relevant.
Agree we are not relevant as a one bid league. That is true for over 20 conferences however. I was just pointing out the league is not the worst in the nation according to the numbers despite some believing it is. You may call it quibbling but I call it trying to be accurate.
I call it accurate. If you’re not relevant but once every 25 years you’re awful. It’s like dating a 3 and being glad you’re not dating a one. Neither is worth being okay with. But that’s just me.
