Improving our strength of schedule is a challenge which will likely take more money. Implementing a multi faceted strategy for the program to take next level type of steps is crucial. We have a first class arena to watch games but that's not enough. I haven't been a MBB season ticket holder usually making the last five or six home games after duck season. But will be purchasing them for next season.
It’s easier for Middle, and WKU to schedule well simply due to geography. We’ll need more money to schedule better. Still there’s opportunities out there.

There are plenty of opportunities, but we do have to make basketball a priority to take advantage of them.

It's a combo of SOS, RPI, and Record...road wins, home wins, who the wins and loses were against, and if no one is scared of losing against the SunBelt...Sun Belt conference RPI hurts too

RPI is a combo of SOS, and Record...road wins, home wins, who the wins and loses were against ...

Their counting of SOS twice is ludicrous.

    Totally agree, Turbine
Have sent emails, facebooked and written to letters to NCAA lamenting this exact issue in softball - have not received a response from NCAA, but lots of supporting facebook post and a few SEC trolls.

You know what you can’t get around? We didn’t have a single win vs anyone of merit. RPI is the macro, but there’s the lack of quality wins.

Softball, and baseball have had quality wins and been under seeded. This year Marlin had zero, zero quality wins. His loses double digit except for almost double digit Wyoming. We weren’t under seeded.

LSU was a single digit loss as well as the game against UTA and Little Rock. All three of those games found the Cajuns at less than full strength. Depth was fine when everyone was healthy. When other guys had to play more meaningful minutes, they were not as effective. League being down also did not prepare them for tight situations. Some years committees use RPI as criteria. This year they used record vs top programs and we were lacking there. However, we had none of those at home. Who knows what criteria will be used in future. Regardless of that, guys who struggled in the last game like Miller, Marquetti, and Davis need to work hard in the summer and be tougher mentally to perform under pressure.

Mike, I was talking about regular season. LilRock ended up a double digit loss. The LSU game isn’t part of picking LSU instead of us to host.

The NCAA always includes good wins and even good loses to justify their decision. The team had bad loses vs everyone who was any good at all. Zero good wins. Bad loses Clemson, Ole Miss, and SBC tournament champs GSU. OLE MISS wasn’t even a good team.

Maybe we’d get some good wins like LSU did if things were fair, but they’re what they are. None, nodda.

It is virtually impossible to know what metrics will be used or important going forward on a case by case basis.

However, you can bet your rat's -ZZ that the matrix which will be important on a case by case basis is the one which favors the P5 over the G5 to which it is being compared at the time. And in the next part of the bracket, it will be a different matrix that will be important because the same result will be sought - P5 over G5.

Can't beat them. The committee (NCAA) will not let.

I would have been quite if this years committee harped only on quality wins.

Instead they double dribbled SOS over and over.

SOS is already included in the RPI.

Maybe next year we can have more success in a neutral site tournament. If so, perhaps those teams do well as the year goes along. Ideally we win a road game against a major school but that will be difficult with the leadership leaving from the team this year. Still, basketball now needs to look ahead and start preparing accordingly. As I mentioned in another post, some of the guys who struggled in the LSU game need to be ready to carry a bigger load. I also know we have one scholarship remaining and bringing in someone who can contribute right away may be what is required to have another strong year.
