Still, basketball now needs to look ahead and start preparing accordingly. As I mentioned in another post, some of the guys who struggled in the LSU game need to be ready to carry a bigger load. I also know we have one scholarship remaining and bringing in someone who can contribute right away may be what is required to have another strong year.
Mike, would Evans not returning open another scholarship or is that the one that is available now?

Marlin's record = not good enough.

However, you can bet your rat's -ZZ that the matrix which will be important on a case by case basis is the one which favors the P5 over the G5 to which it is being compared at the time. And in the next part of the bracket, it will be a different matrix that will be important because the same result will be sought - P5 over G5.

Can't beat them. The committee (NCAA) will not let.
    Great point

That really doesn't matter. Blaming the NCAA or the committee is a deflection away from the fact that Marlin is awful in road games and slightly less awful in games against top 200 opponents.

Just win games against quality opponents and win on the road. Blaming others for your failure to perform is a cop out.

SOS is already included in the RPI.
Actually, they did harp on Quality wins. They compared and seeded most of the field on number of Quadrant 1 and 2 wins.

Evans was not on scholarship this year. We have only one remaining.

Thanks that makes sense. I'm assuming that is how Broussard got the scholarship for the Spring Semester.

I think Miller needs to work hard on conditioning more than mentality. He is crafty, but when his minutes were elevated, so was his heavy breathing. We were out-athleticized as team against FUPA's bunch, but Miller did not even belong on the court in that game.

We just won 27 games and a conference championship. I guess none of that counts for some of you.

I knew as soon as the season ended, VO would be back to point out Marlin's perceived faults.

    Some agendas are pretty transparent.

Are you suggesting his points aren't valid? Do you have anything that counters his argument/stats he posted besides emotional rhetoric?

My agenda is completely transparent; I want us to have a quality basketball program; not a smoke and mirrors imitation of quality.

    27 wins this year: 0 vs top 100 RPI, 10 vs RPI 101-200, 15 vs RPI of 201+ and 2 non- D1.

To his credit, Marlin coached Louisiana to a winning record vs RPI 101-200; something he had accomplished only once before in his tenure here.

54-86 vs top 200 RPI over the last 8 years at UL.

You may call that good basketball. I call it institutionalized mediocrity.
