Just to clarify, this is 5 year RPI averages.

    108-Tech
    110-Houston
    227-Tulane
    232-Southern Miss
    260-Nicholls
    265-Rice
    276-Southeastern

So really none besides the top 2 should be considered routinely.

Like I said, I would focus on scheduling Tech, Houston, Tulane, Southern Miss and Rice in as many sports as possible, every year. The main reason would be to build alliances and become familiar as possible with their fanbases and administrations. After all, these schools are the ones we want to be conference mates with, right?

Also, if we are going to dive into more Power Conference scheduling, a little breather now and then would not hurt, especially if we can accomplish ulterior motives in doing so.

So, if they can't play them at home, they play on the road. Tournament neutral courts are far better than playing at an away campus. But, none of that seems to bother Gonzaga. They will literally play any one, any place. And, it has worked for them. Our playing anyone in the Southland Conference is not quite the same thing.

Maybe this game sparks a new home and home rivalry. Who knows. Problem with that is LSU is about to improve greatly and quickly with a good coach and recruiting. They, along with all P5s, can turn it around much quicker than we can. Took us 8 years to get to this one season of consistent success

As for Nicholls and SLU, I'm not against playing them. They just need to meet the criteria of historically good RPI averages.
Rice is not a basketball juggernaut. I'm not taking the time to look at it over many years but they're RPI has been terrible in recent years.

UL Basketball LSU showing their class.

Called a time out to talk $***, and then he turned to the crowd and said F*** them F*** them, and then Will Wade showed his _____ in his press conference. Show the real class from LSU.

We need to do everything we can to compete with this so called Flagship University.

I give Marlin a lot of credit in his post game, he said “he will run his program , and we will run ours.”

I have never seen a coach and fan base so fired up after winning an NIT game

    Lots of not caring

But we are “little brother” and “irrelevant.” Remember?
