Maybe 1945 was the last one in Lafayette.

And LSU has beat better teams than us on the road this year.

One thing people may have glossed over in those comments is that if we had to go on the road Baton Rouge is a good venue since travel is easy and missed class time is minimal.

I just hope it is a happy ride home.

That isn't true. I went to the PMAC and watched the Cajuns get beat when Oriene Green and that crew were playing. Maybe a miss quote?

It is an RPI boost for both schools, and travel cost is virtually zero, in both time and money.

It is a win win situation, as would similar arrangements with LTU be for both schools.

You schedule these games for RPI purposes, NOT for attendance. Play and beat enough quality teams and attendance will follow.
What was our RPI average the last 5 years compared to theirs?

Man, I hope that's true and he isn't just trying to motivate the team.

He meant 1945 was the last time LSU played in Lafayette. The 2004-2005 team lost in Baton Rouge when both squads made the NCAA tournament. It was a competitive game but a solid LSU win. The 2006 team lost in Baton Rouge in a game the Tigers won handily after one of the key Cajun guys was injured in the first half. In December of 2009, the Tigers won by two I believe. They had a nice lead but Randall Daigle got hot to make it a close game and I think he missed a chance to put us ahead within the last minute.

I didn't do the math, but they were around 65 the first three years, 195 last year and 95ish this year. We were 89, like 120, 115, 145, 63. Those numbers are not exact, but they are close.

Sorry I meant that he was making the point that it had been 73 years since they played here in Lafayette

I found these numbers on Warren Nolan.

    2012 - LA 225, LSU 92
    2013 - LA 89, LSU 68
    2014 - LA 123, LSU 65
    2015 - LA 145, LSU 95
    2016 - LA 114, LSU 195
    2017 - LA 63, LSU 94

If they lose to us it's a big gain for us, but I don't see a benefit for them to risk it. It would be fun for the fans, but I don't see LSU ever going for it. Their record doesn't mean anything to me this year, because they play better competition. If we have Stove and Gant at full health, we compete. This is going to be a tough game, but I'll be there in the stadium getting yelled at hoping they pull it off. Our recruiting would get a little easier if they win this game. Fingers are crossed!

Seeing those RPI numbers trend up is nice to see.
