Not true. All other things being equal ... If the Cajuns win out at home (4-0) and take 2/3 at Texas State, this places them at #48 in the current RPI rankings. Winning out (7-0) puts them at #40.
Of course, all other things will not necessarily be equal ... some will depend on what the teams around the Cajuns in the rankings do ... as well as the Cajuns' opponents and opponents' opponents.

I'm assuming (maybe foolishly) that getting to the final would move us closer to 43-45 RPI - hopefully with 8 wins against top-50
