Morganza bald eagle nest on west side.
East side. There is an area where rock was brought in against LA 1 on east side but cannot stop on roadway to get photo.
the damage is already done, the salt content at Bay St Louis was .03 last week when it should be .12-.15. The fish spawn is shot and it has killed all of the remaining oyster beds for at least the next couple of years. The shrimp have been moved from the area by all of the polluted fresh water that is flowing through. Once again Louisiana has killed Mississippi just to save the fisheries west of the Mississippi.
Looks like there is another storm off of the Pacific Coast and may be moving inland over the next few days. They will probably open the gates on the Oroville dam spillway next week some time. This is the spillway that failed a couple of years ago. They spent over 1.1 Billion dollars to repair it over a two year period.

When I was a kid, we were at a friends house off of Bellevue Plantation Road. There are coolies between the properties that drain into the Vermillion River, which we were playing in. All of a sudden water started rushing into the coolies from the River! Am I right in assuming this was due to the high tide coming in?
Go to the link below to see the Oroville dam spillway in action. They haven't opened it all the way. They are only going to release about 30,000 CFS right now. It's capacity is 100,000 cfs. As a comparison, the Mississippi River in Baton Rouge is passing 1.3 Million CFS.

The video may not come up right away as there are lots of people wanting to see this and they will cut you off after a little while.
Didn't take long to have to put the spillway back in service. I was looking at the drought monitor map yesterday and for the first time in an extremely long time Cali didn't have any locations in drought. Just a small section as abnormally dry.
