For professional state taxes are treated as where each game is played and thus numerous states returns become involved. I doubt they would ever go to that level for ncaa but something to consider. Although technically the payment is for whatever event they utilized NIL so most of the time that would probably be near campus

Wow...but but but he is a GRAD student... geaux figure

Wait, he has a degree but has to miss time because of academics? That doesn’t make sense.

It makes plenty of sense. He graduated before the season started and in order to remain eligible to play he needed to take a certain amount of hours. After the semester was over it was shown that he had not taken the proper amount of hours thus he would be suspended for the first ten games of the following season.

    Except it does.

Some graduate degrees require certain credits that if he knew where he was going ahead of time, he would have taken... unless that is, UL doesn't offer what their Grad Program requires.

One clarification, Jordan graduated in December of 22 which was about a third of the way through the season. I presume the reason he did not complete the spring semester hours required (assuming Million$Mullet is correct with his information) is that he was busy working out with guys who help people prepare for the professional ranks. I do know that to play at Memphis or anywhere but here he has to be accepted into a graduate program. That is due to the fact he transferred previously. Would not have been case here. He could work on a 2nd degree.

NIL is a rapidly changing situation. A couple of years ago the rumor was Memphis was paying 2 freshmen Duren and Bates $ 2 million each. They did not get the return they expected and supposedly paid Kendrick Davis $ 300 k last year and had a better team. While schools like Arkansas have almost unlimited funds, it is interesting that some "salaries" are decreasing. Is ironic Memphis lost to FAU in the first round in a crazy choke job. Any update on Mylik Wilson?

He redshirted at Houston this past year. Has 2 years to play there now.

I've thought this would end up being the case in a lot of places.

Things will level off when the ROI isn't reached like they hoped.

Mylik entered the portal again a couple of months ago. Had not heard where he ended up.
