The past ten years or so, many of the first time homebuyers want a house like mom and dad without buying a starter home.

JB is getting more money now than starting out in most overseas leagues. It just gives him a year to work on improving his stock at best, kick the day of reckoning down the road a year at worst.

No. But he can start his future better with 325k than he can with 100k…can he not?

And if he’s smart and invests his money wisely that extra 225k can make an even bigger difference.

Are we really debating this? If you were 22/23 years old and can do the same thing you’re doing for 3x the money, would you even consider NOT doing it???

Penny Hardaway has had a couple of the highest ranked recruiting classes come in since he was hired. It hasn't exactly worked out like Memphis had hoped bringing in all that talent but the man is a well known ex player who can recruit to wherever he will be. Period. It's no surprise that JB went there. Probably got a good money package and he's playing for an ex NBA all star in a decent conference.

If he was offered a 225k raise today he would take it, much less at 22 years old. Life changing money is not the same thing as retiring, not sure where that idea came from. It can change your life without you not ever having to work again.

Hope JB spends time working on his advanced degree. JB was a known quantity, the Lou Henson winner, and the NBA didn’t even give him an invite to the preseason camp.

The NBA has been completely moving away from back to basket players in recent years. They want guards, wings and bigs who are mobile and can play multiple positions and defend the perimeter. The national player of the year and the runner up to that both didn't get even a look in the draft which is why Edey decided to go back to Purdue and Gonzaga's Drew Timme had to sign an undrafted contract with Milwaukee.
