Youngstown St and UC Santa Barbara isn’t really “name” teams.

So I guess the key is to not develop players, don’t get too good, don’t win, don’t get exposure and you don’t have to worry about losing players.

There is no such thing as amateur athletics in college anymore.

I know taking the high road and wishing departing players well is the right thing to do. But, to be honest, I don’t feel that way anymore. You were one of us, now you’re not. I now feel the same way as when a player joins or leaves a favorite pro team. I’ll support you while you’re here but when you leave, you’re an opponent. In fact it’s a bit worse in college. In the pros, you might get cut or traded. It’s often not the player’s decision. In college, you’re choosing to leave.

The fact that you can’t get too attached to your favorite players takes so much away from the enjoyment of being a fan.

College players get cut all the time, scholarships pulled etc.

Granted. But usually not your highest performing players unless it’s for cause.

Lots of moving parts on all ends these days, then there are a couple more parts . . . it’s difficult to keep the machine gelling with all these parts . . .

Absolutely have to cut players who aren’t developing fast enough. Red shirt year, and one more. If he’s not pushing for serious time on the field he’s gotta go.

This "next generation" can't make a binding decision of where to go to school for four years (arguably not even more than one) yet the media leads us to believe they can make a permanent decision to change their gender without regret.
