I disagree. No matter how many different ways you guys say the same thing. I understand the concept. I get the respect. I just disagree with the idea.
It's not about feelings, but it's about appreciation and respect? Appreciation and respect ARE feelings. You want those guys to FEEL appreciated. To FEEL respected. I'd say if they don't know that already, one token start won't do it.
It’s pretty much universal, the starting of seniors in college sports, even with national championships on the line. All we’ve got on the line is pride
LOL. This has NOTHING to do with everyone gets a trophy so we can shut that down before it starts. We are playing a conference game that we are favored to win by a good margin. It hurts nothing to start those two guys for 3-4 minutes and let them play. Its a great way to show respect and thanks to guys for sticking with the program for years with little to no playing time.
Its not about feelings. I'm sure they will feel proud or happy to have the moment but I'm doing it to show something. I'm doing it to show something to not only the kids but to the fans and school that we respect our kids staying with us. You don't like it? Fine. Nothing wrong with that but its likely going to happen.
We might have a debate if we had the Georgia schools coming to town while we were up by one game.
But in this case, there's nothing wrong with giving Stalcup and Broussard a big "thank you" for their hard work (with little reward) all season.
Getting introduced in the starting lineup in front of your home fans is special, especially if you've never gotten to experience it.
Coach may or may not do it. And, whatever decision he makes is fine with me.
But I totally don't get making a controversy over this.
We can't get the undefeated home season unless we win tonight. It should be the toughest of the two games so I imagine the guys will prepare accordingly. Cody Junot asked this morning what we hope to see tonight. He said less made three pointers than on the Alabama road trip. That is a good objective. I would like to see us be able to get Malik Marquetti some good shots to get him out of his slump. I of course would not mind a blowout so lots of people can play lots of minutes. Need to keep guys fresh to prepare for next weekend's tournament.
